No Homerun Rule

Post by beerrepository » Fri Jun 04, 2010 7:45 am

In our softball league, if you hit a homerun, you are out and the opposing team receives 2 points. Is there anyway to score that?

How do people handle starting with a 1 and 1 count now?

We have heard of "after X number of home runs, any more home runs are considered an out". We have not heard of the other team receiving runs in this scenario however. This can lead to weird scenarios... it means you could start an inning with a tie, and actually LOSE the game while you are at bat! Very strange.

To score the outs for the home runs, you could use "Out, More..., Other" and just mark them as "other outs". You can use Notes to indicate the reason was homerun.

Adding runs for the other team is a bit more tricky. First you would have to wait for the other team to be at bat (a team can only score runs while they are batting). Once the other team is at bat, you can use Misc->Tie Breaker to put runners on base, then score those baserunners with steals of home. This is the only way we can think of adding scored runs without changing who is currently at bat.
