Substitution issue

Post by dtkreutz » Mon May 17, 2010 9:38 pm

Couple of different issues here, but I'll start with the biggest one I have.
Offensive substitutions on ipad. If I click the batter, I get the defensive substitution screen without the Offense/Defense buttons at the top. To test, I click a defensive position and have both options. If I do the defensive side of the sub, I'm still left with the benched player at bat, and no way to get the sub to the plate. (this might matter: Throughout my scenario, Home sub screen gives offense and defense, Visitor only give defense

Maybe this lead-up caused my problem:
I noticed a new second baseman at the bottom of the 4th. I couldn't get info on him till he came up to bat in the 6th. I didn't have him on my roster, so I exited back to the team manager and added him as a player. Then went to Pitch by Pitch back to the 4th and tried to do a defensive sub. The player wasn't available. Tried again, and saw that he was on the roster, and I then added another placeholder player. Still not available in Pitch by Pitch. Went back to game, Misc, Starting Lineup, and added him there. Then back out to Pitch by Pitch and was able to make the Defensive sub in the 4th... Now back to Pitch by Pitch, but cant do offense. Resume play, but the subbed out player is still at bat, and no way to get the new player there instead.

I've tried restarting, but no luck
Thanks

Offensive substitutions are only available if you start the game with more players on the roster than you have batters (i.e. at least 1 player is set to Batting=NO). If all players in the Lineup are set to Batting=YES, then it assumes you are playing in an "all players bat" league (youth + slow pitch softball for example), and offensive substitutions can not be made. If you are going to be making offensive substitutions during the game, you must have at least one player in the starting lineup that has Batting=NO.

interesting quark. did not know that..

(I am away from my handheld.. but ...if you started the game with same number of players on the roster that bat (i.e. 0 player set to Batting=NO). Try this ... It should re enable the offensive sub button.

.... pitch by pitch, starting line up (first event), add player, bat =no, save/back...

now try to make a sub. I think offensive button will now be active.
