Retrieving Old Data

Post by bepeacock » Fri Oct 24, 2014 9:37 am

Alright, well I've gone and done it. Bought the new Air 2 and sold my older iPad. Didn't even think about my past saved games on iScore. Not that I'll need them; I just enjoy keeping score to the games I go to, big league and AA ball. But it'd be nice to have them, especially the memory of the major league games.

Along the same lines, I can't seem to get my add-ons to pick up on my new Air...

I chose to set up my new iPad anew rather than restore from backup. I swear I registered with iScore for the very purpose of being able to carry my IAPs forward (back when it was just iPhone app, then iPad came out) and tried pulling my data down. But I can't get logged in, so I either forgot my user credentials or never really did it.

So at this point, if I just really really wanted my old games, is the only way by restoring from an iCloud backup? Was in-app game data saved there?

Restoring from iCloud should restore game data, but if you have ever done an Options -> Export from within iScore, your data would also be on the iScore servers and you would be able to recover from there as well. If you email your information (customer ID, email address you may have registered your device to) to support@iscoresports.com, we can check what is available on our servers.

I went ahead and tried restore but there's another kink. Apparently I had the older version of the app that was iPad stand alone. When I restored, the app acted like it was going to load but then disappeared altogether. It said to get that app back, I would have to restore from iTunes backup, which I don't use. I use iCloud backup, which I guess pulls apps from the current store. I actually had to buy the new universal app to get it back on my new iPad.

I'll email yall but I dont think I'm going to be able to retrieve my old games.

Hi,

I recently deleted a bunch of games from iScore app on my iPhone and I wanted to know if they are retrevible from the main server. I didn't realize that when I deleted them from my phone that they would also be deleted from my team website. Please let me know.

Thanks,
Frank

It sounds like you would need to have registered an account and used the Export button for your data to be stored on their servers.

My data is in my iCloud backup but because the backup can't install the old version of the app* (pre-universal) I'm not able to retrieve any of mine. I only did one export back in 2011.

*-When I restored, the app started to load but then disappeared. The app store did not show I had purchased iScore so I had to buy the new universal one.

Pause . Email support. Describe your situation in detail and give them your device ID number (s) and they often work magic . Recover data from prior exports.

3 recomended practices

1. Register all your devices to a common email account . To link your admin sites .

2. Option >export after every game scored.

3. Don't deleate data from your device..
