I'm sure this has been covered but I will ask (yes I used the search function too)
My team has been using the same team name for the last 4 years or more.
What is the easiest way of changing the team name but not losing player stats from the old team to new team name?
Is there a step by step document to:
1. change team name on device/website?
2. change website name
3. retain player history info from from old team to new team.
Do i just change my team name from the iPad device and will it "carry" over to the website. We only use the website for the stats nothing else.
Thanks

Re: Change Team Name
Depending on your situation .. You can either create a New team and add players to roster, or rename an existing team…. Normally I suggest creating a new team each year and just adding in the players to roster b/c for me, there is almost always some roster change year to year. ( i then use the admin web site to re associate my Team site to the new team)
The Team Web Site subscription is associated with a specific team with a unique identifier created by program. you can rename the name on the device , but the underlying identifier remains the same and (, the underlying identifier is tied to the web site, ) . you can change the team that is paired with the web site using the admin site.
regardless, Player history follows the player .. what ever team they are on….
if you manage the players correctly (do not delete players, do not create duplicates, and Merge duplicates if you do have them ) - Players stats stay with them for life. you can filter player stats in player manager using leagues in what ever groups you create. (e.g. last season, last year etc) (if you need help on league functionality - post back or see FAQ)
if the only thing that changes is the name.. you can just edit the name.. in team manager and move on.
For example. My high school team is the STALLIONS but i create a new team name each year e.g. Stallions 2012 , Stallions2013, Stallions2014 , and populate the roster using Add player (not new player - except for any truly new freshman, who i do not already have in my player manager list from summer ball). ( A new team each year for me , helps me remember who was on the roster in past years . (i prefer this over using the inactive player method , i use inactive player for kids on the DL in season.)
The team web site URL however stays the same year to year. ISCOREBASEBALL.COM/StallionsBaseball. (around try out time, I renew the TEAM web site subscription for the next year, and use the Admin web site to associate the Web site to the new team for the year. very easy. )
on my hand held device, I may even shorten the team name to just stallions, but at end of season i will go back to Stallions2014..
Make sense?
