Organizing leagues

Post by Cferris » Thu Jun 14, 2012 6:24 pm

Love this app! Ok, I am playing catch up with leagues. I have recently gone back and assigned games to leagues. I broke it down between conference games and tournament play. I went back to each game following the instructions in the previous posts. Now I can get cumulative stats for conference games, and then change over to tournament league and get a seperate set of stats for those. This is great, however, one of my tournaments for some reason, when I go to team manager does not show any of the teams, therefore, I can't see stats for that tournament. I have checked several times to see that those games have the appropriate league selected and they do, yet they won't come up in team manager. One more question, when should I use default?

Make sure you add the Teams to the leagues as well so the teams will show up. Go to Team Manager while you have the All league selected in League Manager, select the team, select Leagues from the Team Info screen, and add the team to the league(s) you want to be able to report on.

Adding games to leagues allows you to sort stats, as you have noted.

Adding teams and players to leagues, will allow you to manage your lists more easily. you will only see teams and players that apply to the selected leagues.

I didn't want to start a new topic, so I though I would hijack this one :D

I've scored well over 100 games, and use leagues to separate each tournament, and I have a 2012 league to roll it all up. Adding teams and games to leagues is no problem. But here is the issue that I see:

I do not get any stats for my players on the optional Team Website unless I go into the roster and add each *player* to the League. Mind you, I have already added the *Team* and *games* to the league. When I select any player on the team, that league is not active. I have to manually activate the new League for all my players. That can be quite cumbersome.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

The team website does not filter players by league. Only the Team and Games need to be assigned to the League. The player must be on the Roster for the team the site is for however.

If you have an example of a player that is on the team roster for your team website and the stats are not showing, then please do an Options -> Export, and email us the URL of your site and your customer ID to support@iscoresports.com with a description of how we can see the issue.

Sorry about the long post....I guess I'm not explaining it properly. I don't want to send you an email, because I'm not sure anything is broken because I can get it to work. What I see happening is when I put my team into a League, it doesn't automatically put the players on that team into the League.

Here is the step-by-step

Let's say I have a tournament coming up this weekend, and I want those games to be a League...

1) Go to League Manager ... Add a League ... Type "This Tournament" or whatever and activate.
2) Go to Team Manager ... select My Team (that has an optional website) ... Click "Leagues" then click to add that Team to League "This Tournament"
3) Go to Game Manager ... Add a Game ... the Game is automatically included in that League because "This Tournament" is an active league.
4) Play Game
5) Export
6) Go to team website, click Statistics
7) Click the drop-down and select league "This Tournament"
8) Hmmm...no stats

If I go back to iScore, then select my team, then select any player, they are not in that League. So I have to manually add all 12 players to League "This Tournament"

9) Export
10) Go to team website, click Statistics
11) Click the drop-down and select "This Tournament"
12) Hmmm...Everybody's stats are there!

I can get it to work, but it would make more sense that when you add a team to a League, all players on that team would automatically be added to that League, but they are not.

So, is this by design, or am I doing something wrong?

We do not see the same thing with team websites. In step 8, we see stats for the game.

As noted, if you can email us a sample where you have the TEAM and GAME added to a league, and the stats are not appearing when you have exported, we can take a look at your data. The only reason you may have to add the player to the league is if on your team website, under settings, you have set the "Show Players" option to "Filter by League" in which case it is doing exactly what you are telling it to do. This is NOT the default however.

Not sure why it was set like that, but that was it; thanks.
