Data sharing

Post by BNHS » Wed Jan 25, 2012 6:41 pm

I think I am using iScore in a different way then most people on here use it. I am a high school coach and we have 2 iPads and 3 iPhones to score our varsity, jv and frosh games plus we have 2 scouts that go and scout district opponents. As you can see, this is a lot of devices to try and keep synced. I found out tonight that when I make a player inactive on 1 device and try and share the data with another device, it does not make the player on the other device inactive. So I have to make this change on all 5 devices individually. Is there any way that we can get these devices to be identical. We chose iScore because we use EDGE to scout our opponents. The program we used in the past, we could sync all of our 5 palm pilot's and they were virtually the same palm pilot. From the limited experience I have with using iScore it doesn't look like I have the ability to make our 5 devices exactly identical. Is there anyway we can assign all 5 devices the same customer ID # so we can all sync from the same website?

There is not a way to sync 5 devices with the same customer ID. The Customer ID is tied to the hardware.

The issue you are running into is that with data sharing, once you have transferred a team, it will will not transfer again because we filter it out of the list. We will likely be adding an option that will allow you to transfer an existing team multiple times to update that team. If you transfer a game, it actually does that right now, but it probably does not change the inactive flag... it would just add any new players to the team as needed.

When we add the ability to transfer a second time, we will let it update the changes to the players as well (changes to names, jersey #s, position, etc).
