Quick Swipe for runners

Post by PetroGuy » Mon Jan 23, 2012 12:39 pm

It would be nice to be able to add some quick swipe choices for runners similar to what is done for outs. It would be great to be able to swipe on a runner and get common choices that most of us use all of the time for runners. For instance, with a runner on first, I could swipe and get the following choices:

Stolen Base - Second
Caught Stealing - Second - 2-4
Caught Stealing - Second - 2-6
Picked Off 1-3
Picked Off 2-3
Pickoff Attempt 1-3
Pickoff Attempt 2-3

If there were multiple runners, iScore would assume they held up. If it was something different, then the traditional entry methods would work fine. There would need to be some logic about what to do when the user swiped a non-lead runner with no open base. (i.e. swiped runner on first when there is a runner on second). Stolen Base would not be an option since there is no place to go (the next base is occupied). Same with the Caught stealing entries.

I think this would save quite a few taps over the course of youth games.

Oh my this is a great idea. Very cool. Especially love the idea of swiping for pickoff attempts. Sometimes I don't even bother doing it because it's too many button pushes, but it's nice knowing if it's a kid coming in that never does pickoffs.

Pickoff attempts are the big reason I'd like to see this. I like to enter them, but they take a lot of taps, especially if there are other runners on base.

I remembered to request to add choices for advancing on a Wild Pitch and Passed Ball also.

Thanks for considering this.
