Missing a couple innings, filling those in later
Missing a couple innings, filling those in later
Brand new to the app and the site. Love it!
Here's a question. If I miss an inning or two (let's say a long line at the concession stand) and come back, is there a way to pick up and continue at the point where the game is, then go back and fill in the missing innings as time permits? It seems like the game has to be scored in a completely linear way (skipping each batter and/or ending each inning individually) and then corrected later in pitch-by-pitch. Is there some better, less tedious way?

There is not a way to "fill in the gaps" in the actual scoring. You can skip batters/end innings to get to the current spot in the game, but you would not be able to enter the play by play scoring later. What you could do is modify the statistics for the game after the fact so they will reflect the correct statistics for the game.
To do this, when the game is over, go to Game Manager, select the game, select the right statistics for the team you want to modify, then tap on any of the values in the grid that comes up to modify them (i.e. you could increase the number of hits for a player, strikeouts, or whatever happened). After making these changes, they will automatically be included in future stats reports and in all cumulative statistics for the player.

Thanks for the quick reply.... I would say that this would be a useful enhancement...

@ptsbrian
You are correct, iscore uses a" score it a you see it" approach and that requires someone to be there to score it linearly. I do not see that changing.
If you want to have complete stats with good quality, you will find you need to score every pitch. That said the app is easy enough to have some one else score basic info for a few minutes if you need to take a break.

Re: Missing a couple innings, filling those in later
I have had a similar problem. In an effort to prepare for the little league season, I used the app to practice score a couple of Seattle v. Oakland MLB games. Since I wasn't there at the very beginning of the game and really didn't want to record it and go back and fix everything I used the Misc>Skip Inning feature to get to the top of the fifth and then Misc>Skip Batter to get to the right spot in the order. This worked fine and correctly tracked everything from the point I started, but it did present some odd displays when I looked at the scorecard after the game. Rather than have data showing in the fifth inning column, the data started showing up in the 7th or 8th inning and the information continued off the right side of the scorecards (without trying to extend it into say 12 innings). The graphics were there floating in space. The data was accurate, it just displayed incorrectly.

If you want to do an Options->Export and email us your customer ID to support@iscoresports.com and let us know which game and copy/paste the message you posted, or a brief synopsis, we can take a look at your data specifically to see what is going on.

I have had this identical problem with the right data shift off the card. Did not see a fix. Please reply. Thanks.

If you do an export and email us your specific case as we mentioned to the previous poster, we can look at your data to see what is going on. We can not have a "fix" until we can identify what the issue is by seeing specific data. Thank you.

Re: Missing a couple innings, filling those in later
I have found "misplaced floating" annotations on a score book generally are an unintended by product in games where batting order changes are attempted after the fact, trying to add a batter or remove a batter..not when using misc skip batter...
