Just started using this App and already there are a number of things that are not very intuitive. For example:
If I select "In play" then "Hit single", why on Earth am I asked what happened to the batter? I just told you! He hit a single! It's a hassle to repeat myself, especially during a game when I want to get the information in quick and then focus my attention back on the game.
Also, being asked for each runner what happened to them after every hit is time consuming. For example, if a runner singles with a man on first the App should first assume the man on base went to second and allow me the option of advancing him an extra base if that happened. But it would be nice if the default assumption for the App to make was that the runner advanced a base without the need for me to confirm that. If it's a force, it should know the player advanced at least one base.
Would also be nice if there was a drag and drop function for runners. If I selected double, put the guy on Second. Then if I need to advance him because he stole or whatever, I can touch and drag him over to the base he stole.
Things like that would make the work flow faster and be a bit more intuitive.
Batter Hits Single - What happened to him????
Re: Batter Hits Single - What happened to him????
Welcome to iScore Baseball and the Forum
This is a common observation of new users, but it is also part of the robustness of the app.
It takes some learning, but it is important.
There are many situations when the obvious does not happen. Simple example..hit single, fielder boots the ball error, Batter ends up at second.
The need for asking every time keeps the score more accurate and flexible

Good advice...this is a great system that you have to follow...once you use it for a few games you'll see why

I agree with Ohio Tex and Hoganknows. With MLB, maybe hitting a single is a simple event. With youth sports ( which many of us use iscore for) hitting a single is just the tip of the iceberg for the play which has an overthrow at first, an error at second and a tag out at third. It helps that iscore asks the question. I agree you will understand better after using it more.
