7 Inning Game

Post by rur » Sat May 23, 2009 1:28 pm

In our softball league we have 7 innings. Which I have set up properly in the options.
I seem to be having some problems with stats and game endings.
Last week I scored a game with version the version previous to 1.6. This week I used the the latest version.

I am having problems with cumulative stats between the 2 games. When I go to Team Manager and click on our team and then Team Stats It only seems to have last weeks stats.

I just noticed that if I go into Game Manager I see both games, but this weeks game has 2 problems. We are away, our team name is missing, the other team name is there and the inning says 7 and not F.
They won by 1 run so we didn't have the bottom of the 7th inning, it said game over when I was done scoring. It seems like it thinks the game is not done and is not updating stats.

One other thing that would be nice to see is a screen that I can flip to that has the position #'s for people that don't remember them :)

Thanks, keep up the good work.

The "list view" on Game Manager that shows final scores has an issue that causes it to sometimes not show that a game is over. If you go into the details of the game, it should show the game as over. This issue is fixed in v1.65 (which is awaiting Apple's approval), and should not effect stats at all.

For the team name missing in the game title, this can happen if when creating the game, you click the title of the game (which causes a keyboard to appear so you can change the name of a game) and you click the "return" button before selecting both the home and visitor teams. Once you have clicked the game name to edit it, pressing "return" lets the system know you have entered a name manually, and it will not put the selected names in the game name after that point.

You can fix this by going into Game Manager, selecting the game, and clicking the game name in the detail view from there. You can then type in whatever name you would like for the game.

If you are viewing Team stats, and you had entered two games for a team but are not seeing cumulative stats for the two games, we would like to take a look at your database. We have never heard of anyone experiencing this problem.

If you go to the Options menu, and click Export, this will send your database to us. After getting the Success message, send us an email at support@fasterthanmonkeys.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false with your customer ID (bottom left of options screen), and let us know which games you scored that are not showing up in cumulative stats.

Thank you.

I tried fixing the missing name of our team in the Game manager, as you suggested, but it won't let me click anywhere to change it.
I have 1.65.08.

Please let me know how to fix this.
Thanks

Also an enhancement for later versions.

7 Inning Games Option

Is there a way to set the default options to 10 players and 7 innings so I don't have to set that for each game?

Thanks,

For editing the game name, go to game manager, view the details of the game, then click the game name (at the top). You can edit the game name.

Having "default" settings for # of players and # of innings is something that will be added in an upcoming release.

Thank you.

Sorry maybe I'm not making myself clear.
It's not in the game title (That I can edit and it already contains the Avatars vs Bad News Bears) it's actually in the score card part, our team is not showing up.

| 1 | 2 | 3 | etc
-----------------------
| 0 | 1 | 2 | etc
-----------------------
Bad News | 0 | 4 | 4 | etc

This is what is showing up and our team name is gone.

Thx

Hmm.. and when you created the game, your team had a name? If you can export your database to us, we can take a look. Go to the Options menu, click Export. When you get a Success message, email us your customer ID (bottom left of Options screen) to support@fasterthanmonkeys.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false, and please either describe the problem in the email, or reference this post so our support staff can take a look.

Thank you.
