Scoring this play
Scoring this play
Runner on first, one out.
Batter hits dinker into shallow right scored a single in no mans land.
Runner hesitates going to second not sure if the dinker would be caught.
RF catches ball on one hop, throws out runner at second 9-6.
When I score this
In play
Hit single
What happened to runner on first, out, force out
Problem is here, there is not an option to tap 9-6.
The app goes to what happened to batter, held up.

Re: Scoring this play
Can you tap on the runner at second after the play, and then select out, force out, 9-6? I think iscore assumes he makes it to 2nd with a single, but you should be able to score it after the fact and gets the stats correct.

Re: Scoring this play
This is a fielder's choice.
In play
Fielder's choice
Location
Touch RF then SS
What happened to runner on first
Out, second, force out
What happened to batter on first
Safe, first, held up

Re: Scoring this play
I don't think it was a fielder's choice as the defense did not have a play at first. The batter should get credited with a hit. The reason the runner was out at second was because he hesitated on the run (in case it was caught.)

Re: Scoring this play
In this case, Aimee has it right according to MLB rules. Unfortunately this is a case where a cleanly hit ball that may ordinarily be a base hit can be reduced to a fielder's choice if following the rules.

10.05(b)(1)
It is too bad for the batter, but there are other scenarios where clean hits can be reduced to non-hits as well. The following rule is at least as bad if not worse for the batter:

(1) runner is forced out by a batted ball, or would have been forced out except for a fielding error;

Re: Scoring this play
In a youth game, I would probably credit the kid with a hit anyway, but technically it would not be. Try explaining that to the parent that is watching their kid's stats though.
