Hello,
I have a question regarding a pick off play where the catcher caught the pitch and threw to 3rd base. When the runner realized he couldn't get back to the bag in time he ran for home where he was tagged out. In this scenario the catcher gets the PO, but shouldn't the 3rd baseman receive an assist? I scored it this way: the ball or strike (can't remember which), then tapped the runner at 3rd, out, home, tagged out, 2-5-2. Iscore gives the catcher the PO, but no assist. This may be the correct scoring? Thanks for any clarification.

Re: Assist Question
We just did the exact same scoring you show here, and the third baseman is showing an assist. We are now using version 2.10 (the release currently awaiting approval from Apple), so if the version you are using is not showing the assist for the third baseman, then it may be something we fixed for version 2.10. Maybe someone else who still has version 2.02 can confirm whether it shows an assist for the third baseman with that version.
Apple currently says that 97% of applications are being approved within 2 weeks, so as long as we fall into that percentage, version 2.10 should be out soon.
Thank you.

Re: Assist Question
I can confirm what FTM states. Catcher gets PO and Assist, 3rd B also gets an assist. Version 2.02
Re: Assist Question
I scored it just like I posted above using v2.02, and the 3rd baseman did not receive an assist on the play. Wonder why not?

Re: Assist Question
The play had been scored as a Pickoff and not a Tag Out.
MLB rule 10.07.(h) The official scorer shall charge a runner as "caught stealing" if such runner is put out, or would have been put out by errorless play, when such runner
(1) tries to steal;
(2) is picked off a base and tries to advance (any move toward the next base shall be considered an attempt to advance);
So if you go to pitch by pitch for that play and edit it to be Out at Home, Caught Stealing 2-5-2
then your stats will conform to the official MLB rules (as a bonus your catcher will have credit for a putout, an assist, a stolen base attempt and a caught stealing in fielding stats)
That being said, your post did uncover two issues with the fielding stats that we have now corrected. The first issue is that we incorrectly interpretted rule 10.10.b.2 to say that the pitcher did not receive an assist in a pickoff play. In fact we we only crediting the putouts and no assists at all in a pickoff play even when, for example, the pickoff was catcher to third base. This has been corrected in the version that will be released after the version that is currently going through Apple's approval process. With this update, all players involved in the pickoff play will receive credit for either a putout or an assist.
The second issue that was uncovered is that in a "pickle" play or similar situations where the fielder sequence may be something like 1-3-4-3-4, the fielders could receive multiple assists for each play. In this example the first baseman was being credited with 2 assists. This has also now been corrected.
