Listed as a Force Out?

Post by Cryptomac » Sun May 29, 2011 5:54 am

Hi,

Runner on 3rd. Batter hits line drive to 5 who then beats the runner back to 3rd for a double play. I entered as out, line drive, third. What happened to runner on third, out, double play. iScore appears to credit correctly in the stats but on the scorecard, it lists it as DP5 for the batter and FO2 for the runner (2nd hitter was up). I didn't think this was a force though. Thanks for any input.

Welcome to the board.

Below is a link to a thread that discusses some of what you are asking. I've always scored it as a force out but technically it isn't because there is not a runner behind "forcing", in this situation it isn't a tag out either because you don't have to tag the runner.
