How to log certain outs

Post by nthnu » Fri May 11, 2018 7:46 am

Hi, I'm tinkering with scorekeeping apps and this is one of the better ones.

I've not been this deep in scorekeeping details in a long time. I have a couple of questions on how to capture this info...

Just to be clear in my mind, Fielder's Choice is an out other than the batter, right?

Two runners on base, with 1 out. Batter hits in the park HR. On his way in he doesn't touch home plate, then tagged out. How would that be done? I wouldn't be able to use HR if he's out. Would it be a triple then out at home on last play (7-2)?

Runner on first, two outs. Batter hits to right. Runner scores, but while running the batter tries for second and is out at second (9-4). Is runner from first safe and run counted before the batter got out? (I assume yes) If the batter was out before the runner made it home, then there would be no runs counted, right?

Thanks!

Fielder's Choice is batter making it safely to first because the fielder through to another base instead (like runner on first, grounder to shortstop and he throws to second base for the out instead of first)

Yes, you would enter a triple then out at home for the second one.

For the third question, if the runner crosses the plate before the tag is made then the run counts just as you said. It would be entered as a single, and out at second for the batter.
