Add iScore to 2nd phone before factory rest on 1st phone (answered, pending any user followup)

Post by BuccoDroid » Sat Jul 08, 2017 8:42 am

Hi,

Just got a new phone. I want to put iScore on it and do a factory reset on my old phone. My wife will be using the old phone but I may want to add iScore back that phone as a back up. I assume that I can export my data from old phone to iScore along with the Cust ID and then when I reinstall iScore on the old phone Import the data back am I correct.

As for the new phone have already installed iScore and assume that I can register the new phone and then import the data that I exported from the old phone back to the new phone.

Can someone let me know that I am on the right track please. I love iScore for my trips to see the Pirates play and when I watch them on tv regularly.

Have a nice day,

I can be more specific in response if i know the type of phone's involved.

i am running out the door to my own game... so i am copying and pasting an answer to a similar request on Copying Data from old device (s) to new device(s) using the free admin Web site, my.iscorecetral.com. This may be a bit more detailed than you need, but I was in a rush, I will also be glad to answer any follow on questions when i get back from my own games

First, back up your old phone data and write down your customer/user ID before doing any factory reset
  • 1) Option > Export on your old phone and that will back up data to iscore server
    2) write down and save od phone User/customer ID and password located under iScore >options > Admin web site[/color]
below should cover it, but here are few additional references if needed. Post back how it works and if you have more questions

Below are step by step instructions on COPY

The main key is getting all your devices past and present registered to a common email account under my.iscorecentral.com (aka admin site)

( Tip: for simplicity, while doing this one off administrative work, I would use a single common email and simple password for all devices. Afterwards, you can set a different password on each device once admin work is done.)

A) EACH OLD DEVICE
  • 1) OPTION > EXPORT on each old device (if you can't do this and are comfortable last time you used the device you exported all data - great)
    2) Get device ID and password for each old device (device: option > Admin > User ID and password)
(if you do not have old device ID and password, reply back and can look into options to recover based on Team Web site names )
    3) Log onto my.iscorecentral.com Using the old device ID and Password from step 2
    4) go to Account tab
    4) Register the old device to a common email
If already registered to a different email, you can unregister and re register to a common email.
To unregister, click on the red number for the device and select un register, then register on the new page
    5) - check your email in box for confirmation email and follow instructions/link to confirm registration and confirm password
    * repeat for each old device
B) EACH NEW DEVICE
  • 1) download iscore baseball from app store for each new device
    2) Set up admin web site on each new Device ( Device: Option > Admin > change password)
    3) Register each new Device to a common email (Device: Option > Register > name and email address)
    4) check your email in box for confirmation email and follow instructions/link to confirm registration and confirm password
    * repeat for each new device

C) Computer: my.Iscorecentral.com
  • 1) log into http://My.Iscorecentral.com use the now common email address and password
    2) go to account tab
    3) click on Manage Data
    4) copy database from "old device" to " new device" (follow prompts, and confirmations)
    * repeat step 3 and 4 for each Old device
D) EACH NEW DEVICE
  • 1) Option > Import ( transfers the copied database from the admin server to your device).
    2) confirm import, YES and restart iscore
    * Repeat 1 and 2 for each new device.
E) NEW SEASON
  • * you will now have an exact copy of what was on the other device (Teams, Players, Games, and Leagues)
    * if desired, change passwords on each device (Option > Admin > Change password)
    * Start to set up your new season. ...

Thanks OhioTex for the helpful info. Kinda like what I thought but you have helped make it so that I don't mess things up with the detailed instructions. Will be doing this in the next couple days and will get back to you on how it goes.

Have a great day and a better tomorrow.

despite the length of the instruction, you are looking at less than 5 minutes from start to finish to do the transfer.

@BuccoDroid - I noticed in past posts, you are a Android user and long time MLB package subscriber...

Android note: after a factory reset, and re install of iscore app from google play with original purchase ID, the user ID (Option > Admin Web Site) should not change. (on IOS devices it will change with any new app install)

MLB subscription...
once you have Both old and New Device Registered to same email for my.iscorecentral.com , you can easily Add the MLB package to your new and old device.

MLB Subscription Transfer to New Device
1. log onto my.iscorecentral.com
2. go to account tab
3. scroll to the bottom and you will see your additional device(s) listed in the MLB Rosters section with the option to Add the rosters
4. Add rosters to device by year as appropriate
