Fielder's Choice Girl's Fast Pitch (answered)

If you have any rules related questions, please ask in this forum. In general, enforcement of rules is up to the Umpire of the game and iScore does not specifically enforce them, but we want to make sure we score within them. Ask here, and experts can chime in.

Fielder's Choice Girl's Fast Pitch (answered)

Post by brianbp27 » Wed Apr 05, 2017 12:12 pm

Bases are loaded, a left handed slapper comes to the plate and bounces it slow to second who has no play at first so she fires it home but runner already slid across home safe. Is that a hit or fielder's choice?

Scorer's judgement call. If no play at first I would score a hit. If a defensive player could have made the play with ordinary effort, then a FC. Sometimes a slow grounder is a hit due to defensive positioning, speed of batter, etc.

I trust Team mom, she knows fast pitch

@brian, you answered your own question by saying "no play at first"

I agree with Team Mom and I know nothing about fast pitch! It would be the same call for baseball rules for those wondering.
