State High School Pitch Count Limits (FYI discussion)

If you have any rules related questions, please ask in this forum. In general, enforcement of rules is up to the Umpire of the game and iScore does not specifically enforce them, but we want to make sure we score within them. Ask here, and experts can chime in.

Our state association (Illinois) calls for confirming counts after even numbered innings, and if there is a discrepancy, the "official" count is the average of the count by the two teams.

Apart from willfully entering false data (omitting or adding pitches to subsequent batters), is there (or will there be) a mechanism to adjust the "official" total pitch count? I don't see anything in 5.008, but I haven't fully explored the new features since fall ball ended last October.

You can adjust the pitch counts post game by manually overriding the stats - see #3 in this link and select the pitching stat instead:

In game, you will probably want to make liberal use of 'notes' to document any agreed to pitch counts or variances. You will want to also become familiar with inning 'recap'

In my experience over the past years, this goes pretty smooth, book keepers tend to be pretty amicable and often agree to same number +\-

Thanks. I'm familiar with the inning recap and had already thought about using the notes. I'm also familiar with editing stats, but hadn't thought about that with regard to pitch count.

Everything will probably be fine. It's just that I've seen too many kids with clickers that get a little too chatty and miss too many pitches. Fortunately, most people defer to the guy with iScore as the most accurate count.
