Game Manager

Post by HenryKR » Wed Aug 28, 2013 9:37 am

In Game Manager, games that are final maybe we can have them GREEN for a WIN and RED for a Loss?

Have games that are final jump behind upcoming games, or allow us to change the sort, not in the order they were entered in.

Also a record screen would be nice, to see our team W/L record, be it for a league, season and overall?

What would a win or a loss be? There is a winner and loser for every game, and people score for many teams on a single device.

For the order - we actually suggest not pre-entering the schedule. If you only enter the next upcoming game, it will always be right on top of the list. Go ahead and pre-create all the teams / rosters as that is the time consuming part. But creation of a game only takes about 20 seconds. So by waiting until game time, you get the advantage of the game list being very easy to access, and you also get the advantage of any changes made to the team rosters also being carried forward to the lineups for the games (e.g. player leaving a team or being added to a team). If you pre-create the games, changes would not go to the lineups for those games.

You can see the W/L record for any team on the Admin Website (http://my.iscorecentral.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), and on iPads, it is available when you select a team in Team Manager.

Poor excuse for not having a sort function. There should be a sort feature for "by date" and really one for "by team" for sorting games. What if you retroactively import games you missed from another scorekeeper? And if you're keeping tabs on multiple teams?

The games DO sort by date. If you want to filter by team (which is different than sorting as there are two teams in a game so sorting the game list by team doesn't really make sense), you can use League Manager to filter the games to just a certain subset of games.

FYI - Many users track multiple teams across multiple seasons and iScore does support this .. Using the " league" and league manager function to great logical groupings,

The "game manager" does sort by date, but it is strict sort, new to old.. regardless of game being past, in progress, or future. So future games do float to the top. The idea of adding a "filter" function similar to that recently introduced in the "team manager" for team stats for "game manager" screen is interesting, and I think FTM should put it on "the list" for potential future consideration..but the original intent of "game manager" was for simply listing the games and launching the "score screen" .... "analysis" and "reporting" was in "team stats" and ", "player cards" and "team web site". But it is an interesting idea for evolving game manager in the future, just doubt given other ideas it will be a top priority.

As to win loss calculation, the place that is already implemented is on team manager in tablet versions and team web site, where their is more screen real estate. But adding in player cards or team info screens in phone versions is another idea for future consideration

I'm doing something wrong then.
I prekeyed the entire season (accidentally missed one game and was just informed about a couple of scrimmages) and my game list is displaying the order I keyed them in and is not sorting them by date. What am I missing?

As you enter games, they are displayed in the order you enter them so you can always see your most recent addition right at the top of the list. This is what people want 99% of the time - to be able to quickly access the game they just entered.

If you close iScore completely or do something that causes the games list to be reloaded (go to League Manager and select / unselect a league for example), then the list will be reloaded and sorted in date order.

That is the answer we are looking for. Turn off the league, then turn back on.

I disagree that the phone versions do not have real estate for W-L record.
There is room at the bottom to insert a record. Even if I would have to scroll that would be fine.
