Volunteers for international translations?

Post by FTMSupport » Fri Mar 18, 2011 9:09 am

Looking for volunteers - for the Android OS, we have made all the text easily translatable to different languages, but do not have the ability to do the translations ourselves and don't trust automated systems to get the context right. If anyone would like to volunteer to do this, we can mention your name and website or email in our credits screen as a thank you, and the folks in the native countries will be forever grateful. If interested, email us at support@iscoresports.com and let us know what language you can translate into.

Thank you.

I'd be happy to help for a French translation, but certainly not volunteer... After all, you're ESPN and the app is not free... Otherwise, you could find me a job at ESPN America in London. ;)

why only android? would love to see a spanish version for the ipad?

Anyway I can help with panamanien spanish.

(note the different latin american countries have different words for things in baseball. so one spanish version probably would not be enough. for instance if you watch a mexican league game on espn deportes they use completely different terminology than say a local panamanien broadcast)

@HerrKrinkle - we are actually Faster Than Monkeys, not ESPN. We have a deal with ESPN, but product development is still done by FTM.

@dalupus - the Android version was made from the beginning with internationalization in mind. The iPhone version is not to that point, but we hope to get it there soon.

My bad. I thought you were acquired by ESPN since the iphone version came out. That should be made clearer maybe...

Anyhow, I could help for a French version. I'm a French native, coaching and playing in an Amateur league in Switzerland. Let me know what I can do. I work for a free ipad license. ;)

Hi,
That thread is getting old but the question about internationalization is still a nice one.

So here's mine: Would you mind if I'll translate/adapt to French the User Guide part? Our league in France have a growing interest into iScore app for official games, so I would need to initiate a training program in French for game scoring.

Regards,
Andrei Curelaru.
