Thanks for confirmation on the fix.
The biggest battery hog is the brightness of the screen. The lower you can adjust the brightness and still see things OK, the longer the battery will last. The second biggest battery consumer is internet/connectivity. The application itself uses very little battery (unlike some games that may have high CPU usage).

Does the type of Internet connection matter as far as battery drain is concerned?

Yes. LTE uses quite a bit more battery than other types of connectivity. It also depends on the strength of the signal... a weaker signal requires more battery usage. Here is a site that talks about battery usage with different types of connectivity and other variables:

Re: iOS6 - Apple Bug causing Slowness in iScore
I keep the screen brightness on automatic. I have always used this setting. I have also always turned off LTE for connectivity. That is why I was wondering about this. The only change I made was to upgrade to the latest version. It was just odd.
I'll be scoring some more games today and I'll see what happens with the battery.

Re: iOS6 - Apple Bug causing Slowness in iScore
It is possible the "slowdowns" used higher CPU usage than it would use now with the change we made. We are not sure what iOS6 is doing exactly during the API call that slows things down, but if it causes excessive CPU usage, then you would get better battery performance since the last update. That would just be a nice, but unintentional side effect of the update. (Would be more reason for Apple to actually fix the issue though if it is effecting battery life as well.)

Re: iOS6 - Apple Bug causing Slowness in iScore
I'm just glad it is working better. I did three more games on Sunday with no slowdowns and no reboots. Plus I had over 40% battery remaining even after a 2 1/2 hour championship game for the third game. It was sweet.
