what is the counter for next to the Pitch tracker in iPad

Post by LI0DNH0 » Tue Apr 17, 2012 11:58 am

Am curious as to what is the counter for to the left of the Pitch Tracker in the iPad version. This has shown up with one of the recent updates and not seen any questions what it is for - I am persuming it is a manual method of counting total pitches for the game, since when pitchers are changed out, the new pitchers stats are set to zero.

Or, am I missing something here?

Thanks.

This is for entering pitch speed. So, not a counter, but rather a dial that you would use to set the pitch speed. You can also tap the pitch type and of course location.

As a side note, MPH can also be calculated (roughly) by pressing and holding in the location area, releasing your finger at the moment the pitcher throws the ball, then tapping again the moment the catcher catches the ball. You need to set the mound distance in settings for this to be (more) accurate.

FTM - I see this question a lot. I think I have answered it at least 3 times. Its apparently not as clear as it could be. Maybe could add a small "MPH" just above the dial?

Yes, it does come up quite a bit... we will see what we can do to make it more clear.

Thanks!! That helps alot. Guess it threw me when the number went above 100 - did not anticipate a throw over 100 mph - but then, I am scoring 12U games with iScore. :)

So if I am reading this directly you are saying we can clock a speed pitch with this?
How do we set the mound distance to use this feature?
