League Edition

Post by AaronStanford » Thu Jan 13, 2011 2:41 pm

Just wondering if you have plans to launch this soon. Our season is about to get underway and before we invest in iPad and iTouches we need to know if we can use iScore for our webhosting.

We support Team Websites now, and League Websites will be supported in a few weeks. It does not require a different version of iScore itself - it is just a website add on just like the Team Websites. We will have more announcements regarding League Websites very soon.

Aaron...

I forgot/never knew you were interested in this product for your tournaments or leagues. that is great news.

have you reviewed the demo versions. do you understand what it is and what it is not (as best you can since FTM has not marketed it yet).

i ask to be sure it looks like it will accomplish your needs or not.

That said, for my own curiosity.. what is your intended use.. League director or tournament director... How many teams/games etc. Just curious .

thanks

I think I understand. There are 11 Teams in our league. Each team will score their games. The stats and scores will post to the website under their particular team website and the stats will be compiled to set up the standings page on the league site.

Does that sound about right. It is our goal to host with iScore instead of eTeamz.

Yes, that is the essence of how the leagues will work. The League Site will show standings, league leaders, schedules, game results, a centralized "iScorecast" portal, and a "home page" for each team. This will work for both Leagues and Tournaments.

Wow! Thats what we want! I am the scorekeeping director on our board and I have a meeting with the Board in a few days. I was hoping to give them an update and the costs to move totally over to iScore for all website hosting and Scoring. So any dates and costs you could provide would be great. The board does not like the look of our current eteamz site and I have designed a site and would embed standings schedule etc. from our hosted site with iScore.

While we have not put together the official sales literature / process yet, it is going to be $20 (probably $19.99, but we all know that is $20) per tournament / league site. This is inline with our other add on offerings, and for those that want the functionality, should be a great value. For that fee, you get the following for one group of teams (whether it is for a League or Tournament):

Standings - see what the overall win/loss of each team in the league is

League Leaders - see who is leading the league in key statistics

Schedules - see the games that have been played as well as the upcoming games for any team in the league

Game Results - get the game statistics and box scores for the gams

iScorecast Portal - easy way to view any games currently going on Live, or recent games as replays

Home Page - Editable home page just like you currently get with a Team site.

Just as with the team website, the league website will have basic styling built in, and you can embed the pages from the league site in other sites if you would like. It will work for both iScore Baseball and iScore Basketball.

If your league has multiple age groups, we would be treating each as a separate "league" as the league site is intended to handle a single group of teams that share Standings and a Leaderboard.

Teams can optionally have their own Team Website as well (though it is not necessary) that would show more detail at the team level (cumulative stats by team, stats for each player on the team, etc). The League Website will link to the Team Websites for any teams that have opted to created a team site.

There are still a few details we are working out, but that should be the basics. Here are several examples of sites that used iScore Leagues:

http://leagues.iscorecentral.com/nsc2010hs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://leagues.iscorecentral.com/nsc201016u" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://leagues.iscorecentral.com/areacode2010" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://leagues.iscorecentral.com/vibl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://leagues.iscorecentral.com/hc2010" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (basketball)

VIBL was a full summer league with 30 teams. The others were very large tournaments with hundreds of games played in less than a week.

Note that in most of these, there was the League site + each team had a site as well. Basically the details on the "Teams" tab other than Roster would only be available to teams that had a team website as well. The other functionality would be part of the base League Website.

Thats what we want. Can I put my name on a list for when it is available? Or should I just keep checking here?

The forums will be the first place it is announced. We will also likely send an "in app message" on the devices as well.
