I saw that, but haven't been able to purchase the 2017 Stats add-on. it doesn't show in either device I use the app on.

The 2017 rosters should now be showing as available in the Add Ons section. We had to get the app rolled out and then enable the In App purchase on Apple's site. Sorry for the delay.

First - I have been using iScore since it first appeared on iTunes and bought the iPad version (yes paid twice) before the app became unified. iScore has been my go-to app for scoring for all that time including scoring multiple no-hitters and a perfect game because I score while watching on TV.

Everything has been great and the improvements have been fantastic but....

This new version has me scratching my head because the graphics and game management have moved from a being a semi-professional tool for me to something I have a hard time looking at and using.

I'm not sure anyone else has this opinion or not, but as a coach, scorekeeper, and user of iScore for 100's of games I'm disappointed in the direction of this release. I'd personally like to have a much cleaner / flatter interface without all of the background noise, semi-transparent / semi-opaque rows in the views and so on.

I'm also a developer (7 iOS apps for Big Time Coach and counting) so I understand the compelling nature of marketing folks to 'pretty up' apps and add lots of graphics but... can we please have a flat option in addition to the light skin? At this point I'd have to move to the evil empire (GC) if the look and feel of the app remains as is.

Sorry for the rant - just frustrated that one of the apps I love and got inspiration from has taken this turn.

We understand that not everyone will like the changes. We have had the same look now for many years and any kind of refresh will be liked by some and not liked for others. We hope that with the new functionality being added in addition to the updated look and feel, everyone will find something they can enjoy with the update.

I get it, and understand I'm ranting a bit.

Just wanted to share the perspective of a long time app user (since nearly the beginning), and a huge advocate of the app and the web services too.

I'll put in an enhancement request on that forum for the ability to choose a flatter view as an option.

I completely agree with CoachCarl. I too have used iScore since the beginning...scoring softball games as a coach for our high school varsity team. Love the program and all it does...EXCEPT now I too am discouraged with the interface / look. I understand the need for updates, and looking to improve the product. However, with this new look I find it way to busy, cluttered really. There is a lot of text, buttons, data, etc. that are already part of the program interface itself (which is all needed and great stuff to score the game)...but adding the graphic behind the program itself is fluff...and becomes noise and a distraction...which makes one have to hunt or visualy filter out items. Adding these graphics works against the ease and functionality of the product. I have to say too that the text, boxes, and other interface items use to seem sized and scaled proportionally...again to keep things consitent and easy to decipher and use.

A clean, well organized interface with a flat background has a lot of merit to be more productive with the use of the program. I mean this next statement in a constructive way...it's like right now there is a lot of "Visual pollution"...which Wikipedia defines as "an aesthetic issue and refers to the impacts of pollution that impair one's ability to enjoy a vista or view"...or in this case it's functionality.

No need for the visual marketing fluff...you have a great product.

Maybe a solution would be a choice between the new enhance background and a bare stripped down version (like the dark/light option on the old version.)

A question - apart from the update graphics, can we expect additional improvements in version 5? For example, will iScore now be capable of recording double-play outs in the correct order on the scorecard in cases where the double play can't be entered from the quick menu? Will it be possible to configure the scorecard to show opposing pitchers on the same page as the offensive results, so that we can see what pitcher faced what batter without having to toggle among multiple pages or documents? Interested in general to know whether and how functionality will change in the new version. Thanks in advance for anything you can share with us.

V5.006 is now available

(update, since 5.006 release a few more minor bugs have been identified on the forum and support has indicated another minor update should be out in near future. that said, none of the identified bugs should cause you concern or materially interfere with scoring next games)

I have been scoring games live without issue (since v 5.004 )and have grown accustom to the new interface look ..

I will admit, as a very long time user, I was taken a back with the new look at first glance.. but when scoring I have not really noticed any material difference and the light skin on iPhone was a welcome addition. Most critical to me has been the developers responsiveness (and apple too) to Quickly address any bugs or issues identified. This is a hallmark of the app, great support. And very robust scoring features!

That said, I too am very eager to see more new features as many suggestions we have seen posted are terrific ideas.

Bottom line- I continue to very much use and endorse iscore baseball. And thanks to development team.
