I have a problem that was caused by trying to set up an opponent this weekend. THis is the first time we played this team but had their team and roster setup ahead of time. At game time, their lineup included a player not on their previous roster. In the haste of getting the addition made after the game officially started I mistakenly added the new player to our lineup. That player was added to the end of our lineup, and we batted through the lineup and around to the third person before I caught the mistake. I thought I could sequence the plate appearances forward by edit the starting lineup and removing the extra player. That didn't work so I tried deleting that mistaken player from our roster. Still no Joy. To get back in sequence I skipped our number three batter. I tried to fix this by editing the play-by-play later with no luck. Can you suggest a solution for fixing this and getting the correct at-bats that were out of sequence assigned to the correct three players?

The unfortunate answer is what you did really confuses the internal structure of the program. There is no easy fix.

you can manually over ride the stats or re score the game .

the program tracks the batting slot, you can rename the batters but the program really needs the number of players batting to be accurate .

the fastest is to over ride the stats, Put a note on the scorebook and pay by play that the score book and play by play and scorecasts are "wrong"

the "cleanest" is to re-score the game so the stats , the score book, the game casts etc are all "correct". but is the most time consuming
