Get from Web Database Issues

Post by JRG » Fri Mar 11, 2011 5:40 pm

NOTE: this post is a duplicate of post I just put on the Data Sharing FAQ. Please feel free to disregard one. Thanks.

Can't figure what I'm doing wrong! Trying to pull data from my iPad to iPhone.

Export from iPad -- check

On iphone I go to Data Sharing->Get from Web Database and provide iPad customer ID and PW. I get a list of games and teams that are from my iPad. I select a game and it takes me to the Map Data page. Everything maps to "new" which I expect as I have no data on my iPhone. I click verify and I get a confirmation summary page. Then i click import. I get a message box that says, "Successful Data has been successfully imported.". Click OK.

So far so good, right?

HOWEVER, when I into Team/Game/Player Manager, none of the data is there.

What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like you are doing everything correctly. If there is truly nothing on your iPhone, you can try removing iScore and re-installing it, then performing the data share again. On extremely rare occasions, iScore does not create the initial database correctly and reinstalling will fix that.
Check out the new iScore Baseball documentation page!
Includes videos and user manual.

That did the trick. Was not a problem for me as all the data I deeded about is on the iPad.

Also, FYI, in the process I realized tha the iPhone version was a 2.? version and my iPad is 3.0 (about to upgrade to 3.09). Dotnknw if version mismatch played a role??

Anyway, all looks good now. Thanks.

Reminder for other readers..

, always export your data before deleting iscore app.
options> export

after you re download iscore from app store ( free by apple if from original app store purchase account)

then you can import back in all your data. options> import.

Also. With iscore, it is definitely best to keep up to date with new releases, using the most current version of iscore on all devices.

thank you for the advise of deleting the app and reinstalling. I couldn't get the game data from my ipad (iphone version) to my iphone. Once I deleted and reinstalling and then "get from the web database" it worked perfectly.
