Earned run counted when run scored by error

Runner stealing third, catcher throws, third baseman mishandles throw, runner scores. In the pitching stats, it shows the run as an earned run. i don't think that's right. Please confirm.

It depends what happens on the subsequent plays. If the following batter gets a base hit, then the run would still be earned. If the following batters all strike out, then it would be unearned. When there is an error on a steal play, you can not assume an out would have been made without the error for earned run purposes, so the following batters results come into play in the calculations.
