ERA calculation for games with fewer than 9 innings

When I start a game, I change the "number of innings" under options to 7 - scoring 12U softball where at most, we play 7 innings. However, when I look at the game stats after the game, the ERA is calculated using ER*9/IP, rather than ER*7/IP - any suggestions for what I might be doing wrong?

You are not doing anything wrong. ERA is always a calculation based on 9 innings. The ERA stat does not changed based on the number of innings in a game (we have posted links elsewhere in the forum as references to this).
If you look at this link:

We have just announced that we submitted a release v1.65 to the App Store, and it includes a new statistic - ERG or Earned Runs per Game. This calculation will be based on the number of innings you set your games to, and sounds like what you (and other customers) have requested.
ERA will still exist in its true form, but you will also have the added ERG statistic when that version is approved (generally takes about a week).
Thank you.
