Parents and Fans can not find or see games

Post by wilburburns » Tue May 29, 2018 9:19 am

I've been an avid iscore user for almost 6 years now, and have done the same thing for nearly that time.

I setup a game, email myself the game link, then text that link to the parents and fans on the team, which they then use to keep up with what is going on and the score, even if they are there as most places we play, the scoreboards are never turned on.

We played our last travel ball game last fall, I put everything away, our girls all played school ball through the spring, then last weekend, we kicked off our 2018 season. Using the method above, I sent all the info to those I normally do, but nobody could actually get the link to work, including myself. It kept forcing people to Download the app, which has not been required in the past. Now, the worst part, even those with the App could not use the link or or find the game.

So, what's up, why is nothing working now.

Additionally, my game scoreboard which is on the top of our team webpage is no longer putting new games up either, so they can't find the game that way.

Very frustrated at this time. If I can't get all this to work, then I will be forced to switch to GC, which would really simplify my life, since it seems as most on the team know how to use it. However, I don't like the stats it gives.

HELP

If you can paste a link here from one of the emails, we can take a look to see what is going on. We do force mobile user to use the iScore Central mobile application now to view games from a mobile device, but that should be the only difference. And it sounds like you have an iScore Team Website, so there would be no additional costs for people to view the games from the iScore Central app.

With the scoreboard, it is likely one of two things... either there is a new customer ID that you are scoring from (new device maybe?) or the date range of the scoreboard has an end date before the date of the game. You can edit the scoreboard by going to http://sb.iscoresports.com/ and logging in with your account information, then edit the scoreboard and check that the customer ID and date range for the scoreboard are correct.

Yes I do have a team website, which is up for renewal ASAP, but I don't want to do unless I can get this issue resolved.

Changing the dates on the scoreboard settings did fix that problem. Thanks..

The App has been horribly unreliable since the beginning, which is why I've always sent out the link which allowed our parents and fans to see the info directly on their smart devices without the need for the app. Despite that, I've had a couple parents use the app to find SOME games, while others they can't find.

For example, this past weekend, I had parents successfully use the APP to find the games played on Saturday, but NONE of the games on SUNDAY could be viewed with the APP. Nothing changed on my end concerning how I setup games and scored them, as I have the same routine, yet some games are there and others are not. You will have to truly convince me that utilizing the APP for viewing is truly better, because I'm not seeing it.

If there are any parts of the app that are not reliable, we definitely want to get those addressed.

When clicking the link you supplied on a computer, it opens up to the Web Viewer (as expected).

When clicking the link on an iPhone here, it opens up to the iScore Central app and goes to the game specified in the link (Force @ Legacy). Is that not what you are seeing?

No that is not what I’m seeing. I’m trying to attach an image, but I guess I can’t. I see a screen showing MLB scores and info.

I can only assume that is what others see also.

If you just open the iScore Central app, you will see this (which is whatever games are currently the "top viewed" by iScore users):

When clicking the link you sent above, it opens straight to the game which looks like this:

I have just checked on 2 separate devices (iphones) and both of them go to a page like your first link.

What you are seeing is not what I am seeing, nor what our team fans are seeing. I will say it again, a system that worked great when our last season ended has turned into something I cannot get to work effectively any longer.

When you tap the "3 bar icon" in the upper left, what version does it say you are running at the bottom of the screen that appears?

What specific type of device (iPhone 7? iPhone 8? iPhone X?) and version of iOS are you running?

If we can reproduce the issue you are having we can fix it, but have not been able to reproduce it with our iPhone here.

Can anyone else out there click the link provided previously and let us know if they see the actual game or the "game listing" when clicked?

I clicked on the link and opened in app to game over 11-0 stomping .

I have had parents using the app for two college seasons and many prefer the app and audio version over laptop.

Fyi, latest iOS version now has a text game link feature.
(Of course folks with iscore central app no longer need links as they can search on team name save as favorite team and go from there)
