Fastball count stat inaccurate

Post by sdbeal9 » Wed May 16, 2018 5:39 am

Pitcher enters game, throws 28 total pitches, 1 curve ball, 27 fastballs. However, the Team Pitching statistic shows 32 fastballs thrown. A review of the Play by Play / Edit Game record seems to indicate that the Fastball statistic is counting pitcher pickoff throws, catcher pickoff throws, and steals as fastballs. Am I doing something wrong? How can I correct this?

What software Android or Apple and version ?

Are you recording pitches locations first (yes /no)

I did a quick test and the stats seem to be collecting OK for me.

(apple , Pitch location first)

Hi OhioTex,

I am using iScore v5.108 on my Apple iPad running iOS 11.3.1.

First, I am recording speeds of each pitch off radar gun, so I note the pitch speed, then location, then type of pitch, then Ball, Strike, Foul, Out, or In P.

Am I supposed to select pitch location before speed? Many thanks for your input.

Scotty

PS:

And just to be sure, I just tested it again in a seven pitch game. The game went as follows:

88 mph fastball Strike 1
87 mph fastball Strike 2
86 mph fastball - Batter 1 HBP, advances to 1st

85 mph fastball Strike 1
84 mph fastball Strike 2
Pickoff attempt
83 mph fastball Ball 1
Pickoff attempt Catcher to 1B
82 mph fastball Strike 3
End Game

That's 7 pitches, 7 fastballs, five for strikes,

Under team pitching:
PIT = 7 total pitches (this appears correct)
Fb = 9?? (this appear to include the pickoff attempts)
FbS% = 55.6 (should be 71%, 5 out of seven pitches were strikes. However, 5 out of 9 pitches does equal 55.6%).

There is a setting..that enables you to record
Pitch speed/type/location first ( ie before ball/strike/foul/out/in play) but the default setting is after.

Try changing setting to first.. that may account for some inaccuracy

OhioTex, I do have "Pitch Location First" set as Yes on all my games. Whether this is affected by entering the speed first, I cannot tell.

Many thanks to FTMSupport!!!
