Under NO circumstances should app allow data to be lost (responded, pending user reply back)

Post by Wbuchanan » Sun May 28, 2017 6:25 am

After previously posting a request, I thought about something. Baseball and Statistics are entwined. Under NO circumstances should an app allow data to be lost. Archived, sent to a log file, kept on the device, isolated, sent to Pluto for astronauts to recover, but NEVER NEVER LOST... With that the iScore Baseball app shouldn't allow an Import to occur if there is new data on the device. PERIOD, it should Export it, Archive it, Put it in a log file, and/or send it to Pluto...

In addtion to the reply to your prior post, i will add.

In additon to iscore warning and asking you to confirm import from the admin server data. Iscore also has a background synchronization process (options> synchronization) and secondary server that stores those games. Iscore has a third server, the iscorcast seever that stores games if you had iscorcast enabled.

You never asked for help recovering your game. But i will offer , You can access the sync server and iscorcast server using Option > Data Shareing > get from web and add "sync:" or "sc:" in front of your device id (note the inclusion of the colon)
Example if your id is 123456789 then sync:123456789 and sc:1234556789.

Check those servers for your missing game and report back

Thanks for your offer to help, unfortunately the 'game' was never sent to the servers. The device was offline. But, I'll check anyways, just in case it synced the data off of the device on the next game for the old game.

the data synchronization will work in the background based on settings under Options > Synchronization (wifi or any internet). you must have had some internet connectivity to be able to import. If game was over, (went final) there is a good chance it got sent to "sync:" server before you option> imported and overwrote your device admin server database .

Try Option > Data Share > Get from Web > using "sync:" in front of your user id .. so if your id is 1234567890 use sync:1234567890 (Don't miss the colon)

iScore creates a unique ID for each each game it stores under the covers, If the game already is on your device, it will not show it able to be retrieved, by data share, but if it is not on your device, it will show it as able to be retrieved.

did not hear back, did you try and retrieve games , what was the result?

Options Manager > Data Sharing > Get from Web Database > using "sync:" in front of your user id ?
