Welcome to the forum

Glad to help . This can be done in game, no problem. i am just not 100% sure what 'add player' you mean, add a player to roster? To game line up? Add a player to defense? Add a new batter?. Hope below answers. But if not, just reply back with a bit more details . the more you can provide on what you tried , and are trying to do - the faster we can help ...

If a new user, you may also want to review the user manual. Here is a link for reference. (Also see my signature line below for training page) http://iscoresports.com/baseball/manual.php?gd=1

Suggest you likely want to familiarize your self more with Team Rosters, Starting Line Ups and Substitutions- how they are related- but different and how used at different times . Here is a thread on that topic toohttp://iscoreforum.com/baseball/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5073

To your question..
In a game from main scoring screen, to sub a player you sinply tap on the batter, runner or fielder icon to open the substitution screen (offense|defense). Tap the current person/position and then tap the replacement name from list of players from your line up.

(FYI 1@- If you are 'batting All' in the line up then you will not have an offense sub screen. (Only defense). You can use the add sub button on this screen if player was not in your line up. But normally you want to add players in the line up screen. You can access the line up screen thay you set up to start game from the main scoring screen by using "MISC > SHOW STARING LINE UP" .

If this does not solve your question , post back what steps you tried and we can help more

One option when a player shows up that wasn't on the beginning game line up/roster is to exit the scoring screen and go to the starting line up in pitch by pitch on the game starts. I think you can still add a player there. Usually there isn't time to do that during the game though. Most of the time I have to make that correction later. Another trick is I have Unknown A1, Unknown A2 and Unknown A3 on my player list (they are the first three to show up!) and on schools that have 35 or more girls on their roster I try to scout out ahead who the top 15 or 20 who are likely to play and then go ahead and add the three unknowns to the teams roster to use if I need to. It is pretty easy to fix things post game when I do that. In fact I spent about 2 hours Sunday chasing down just one game in three plus years where I still had stats listed for one of the Unknowns. Most of the two hours were spent clearing out the Unknowns being in the lineups even though their stats were all zero'd out. Seemed to be able to do that deleting unknowns from starting lineup in pitch by pitch exporting and importing without any bad side effects.

I would say I developed this strategy because I have been scoring my daughter's high school and small college games just to have the stats for my own use. And to find out scoring situations that iscore can't do. There aren't many anymore. And it keeps me from yelling at the umpires too much. I've done this since 2011 on an android phone most of the time without the benefit of having the starting lineup from the coaches. Where I get screwed is when some coach gets cute with the DP/Flex rules and/or pulls their pitcher in the first three innings or makes some other liberal substitutions early in the game. Still almost everything can be fixed post game. In college ball the official play by play is on line shortly after the game. Most of the time they have each pitch recorded but if they don't then I am in trouble again. Hope this is helpful for someone.

@oriol88 - if you can provide a more detailed description of where you are having the issue .. we can help.

@ixmus - describes some tips he has found to help him address opponents player names when he does not not have opponent line up names in advance.

@oriol88 : note: there are three ways to get to the same " Starting Line Up (Home|Visitor) Screen" (depending on if New game, In Game, or Post game). You add players to the starting line up to make then available in game for substitutions.
  • new game..
Game Manager: Game Info Screen > Score Game (upper right) > Pop Up Line Up Screen (Home|Visitor)

    in game
Game Manager: Main Scoring Screen > Misc > Show Starting Line Up (Home|Visitor)

    post game
Game Manager: Game Info Screen > Play-by-Play Edit Game > Game Starts > Starting Line Up - Edit > Line Up (Home|Visitor)

@oriol88 : note: the "Team Rosters" that you create under team manager, are a place to add players to the team. and the Rosters are the starting point for the Game Line Up, but once a game starts, the two are "independent" changes to one do not impact the other. so if you add a player to a Team Roster after you start a game, it will not show up in the team line up..
