Individual Games to SportsEngine (answered)

Post by Jdefalco » Tue Mar 21, 2017 7:04 pm

Our conference is using SportsEngine to track stats, scores, etc this season. Currently, the home team is responsible for uploading data into the website since they are the official book. The question I have is can I export individual games to the server for SportsEngine to grab? The problem I see is this:

I am the visiting team and I score my game as normal so I can have our stats and the other teams stats. After the game, the home team exports theirs to the SportsEngine sight and I do not sync.
The following night, I am now the home team. Like the previous night, I score my game as normal, only this time, I am the home team, so I export my data to SportsEngine. Will the game from the previous day also export and be grabbed by SportsEngine and overwrite what the home team uploaded yesterday, or can I export individual games?

When you do a Discover Game from SportsEngine, and then Options -> Export in iScore after scoring, it will pick up that game. It does not pick up previous games. If you have specific questions about the logic that SportsEngine uses, you should actually contact them as we just make the data available for them to pull. We do not control the actual logic they use to determine which games are official.

Something that may also help you to understand.

For every team (and player for that matter), iscore maintains a unique identifier it associates with that team (player). This Enables you to have players (or teams) with same 'human readable' name, eg multiplr john smiths , or yankees.

When you "discover" a team (or a game), its internal identifier is specific to that discovery. For example, you could discover yankees vs angles from sport engine and the program would have different Id# then if you just created it from scratch , that is how sports engine knows what teams and data to grab from your option > export. Teams and games noy pulled from sport engine
