getting web site to show stats for players not on roster anymore (resolved)

Post by gmish » Fri Mar 10, 2017 10:20 am

We are using iscore for the second year for a high school baseball team. In the app, under team manager, we go to our team, and then roster, and remove the players (seniors from last year), that are no longer on the team. Under league within the team settings, we still have last years league checked off.

I then export the data.

When I go to our team web site, the roster correctly shows only this year's players. When I go to statistics, I can correctly choose to see this years stats or last years stats, however.....

When I choose last years stats, the stats for the players that are not on THIS years roster are not there. If I add last years players back into this years roster, those players show back up on the web site for last year's stats.

So how do I get the web site to show this year's roster, while also keeping last years stats to include players no longer with us?

there are two schools of thoughts on going year to year with teams....
  • Create a new team year to year,
  • Reuse a team year to year, just remove/add/inactivate players
I have posted many times on this forum, for a variety of reasons, I advocate a new team each year. others on the forum will advocate reuse. I am not going to get into the pro/cons here (you can search and find) but that is just what i found works best over time. Create a new team each year.

I would have : 3 teams on my device - HS Varsity 2015, HS varsity 2016, HS varsity 2017 teams .. not 1 team - HS Varsity 2015-2017 team

It is easy on the my.iscorecentral.com web site to move web site from HS varsity 2016, to HS varsity 2017 team .

to your question,

you have to be sophisticated with league usage and set the Web site Setting to "Filter by league". additionally you may find using the Inactive feature in team rosters helps.

on team web site settings: , you have a filter Setting to show, ", All players" , "Active players" or " filter by league" - have you played with those settings?

on your device, have you played with the Inactive feature (i.e. Team Manager > Team > Roster > scroll down to put folks on inactive list) . (Inactive is in the iOS version, I am not 100% sure if in Android version, and do not have one with me to test right now)

Thank you Ohiotex. I like actually having one team for multiple years and just creating new leagues, but your past did solve my problem. I did not realize there was an option in the Web site settings to make team roster filter by league. Once i set that, the roster only shows this year's players (since I default the league to this year). If a user chooses last year, last year's roster appears.

The statistics also show correctly for each year.

Thanks for the lead to a solution
