Pitch Location Chart not saving when ball in play/ batter strikes out -iOS v 5.005 (Fixed)
Pitch Location Chart not saving when ball in play/ batter strikes out -iOS v 5.005 (Fixed)
I recently updated the app on my Ipad Air. Since the update when charting games for some reason when a ball is put in play or someone strikes out it does not always chart the pitch. Often times it simply has the result of the play and the charted pitch location does not appear. For example when a player struck out looking the charted pitch does not record in the play by play it simply starts she struck out looking.
It also has been just simply charting the pitches down the middle when put in play rather than their actual location.
Is there something I need to change in the app? and is anyone else having this problem?

Re: Version 5.0 for iOS available
Be sure you have set the "Pitch Location First" setting to YES or NO depending on whether you like to record pitch location prior to entering the result (YES) or after entering the result of the play (NO).

Re: Version 5.0 for iOS available (fixed)
@BronxSB . Pitch location entry functioned the same way in prior versions . When you download new App version, some game option preferences get reset to defaults like Record Pitch information ( i.e. location, type and speed) AFTER the result of the play (NO) is the default.
Also as you know, the play by play and iScorecast can only report what is entered by the scorer. If the Scorer chooses not to enter that extra information ( i.e. location, type and speed) the iscorecast will just show strikes in red down the middle and balls in green -off the plate. ie. the location is generic unless the Scorer chooses to enter/chart that information

Re: Version 5.0 for iOS available
We have Pitch Location First setting as yes and you click and record where the pitch was and then the result. But in the play by play it just shows the result without the pitch location. You then have to go back and rechart where the pitch location was.FTMSupport wrote:Be sure you have set the "Pitch Location First" setting to YES or NO depending on whether you like to record pitch location prior to entering the result (YES) or after entering the result of the play (NO).
Re: Version 5.0 for iOS available
@support .. I am able to replicate the issue @bronxSB mentioned (below) on pitch location not being recorded.. Using v5.005 on both iPad and iPhone with pitch location first set to yes. ... It seems to only happen for the last pitch of an at bat (strike out, or ball in play).
@ BronxSB - I can not re produce this issue (below) you mention when charting pitches ..please elaborate more
(I did not test all the combinations of runners on, outs and types of events (single, double, out, fielders choice etc) ... but for the test case of : no one on, no one out, 2-2 count, a simple strike out swinging, strike out looking and single - I can reproduce the issue. I did not have any issues when pitch location first = no.)BronxSB wrote:... when charting games for some reason when a ball is put in play or someone strikes out it does not always chart the pitch. @ohiotex the only real issue we are having is with the last pitch of the at bat... there was a couple of times it charted it down the middle but it was our manager trying to edit the pitch location in the middle of the game after it did not chart after entering the result of the play. I'm glad I'm not the only one with the issue and that you could replicate it.

Re: Pitch Location Chart not saving when ball in play/ batter strikes out ( iOS v 5.005
We have narrowed it down to 2 things we have found where pitch location is not being recorded:
1. Third strikes
2. Last pitch of a team's at bat
We will get these fixed.
Thank you.

Re: Pitch Location Chart not saving when ball in play/ batter strikes out ( iOS v 5.005
Is the new update Version 5.006 suppose to fix the issue of the pitches nor charting, or is there another update that will come out?
