Can't email iscorecast link (answered)

I've used iscore for years and emailed links for years to people directly from the app. The last few weeks or months it hasn't worked.

Trying to send from the Game Info screen or the scoring screen brings up the dialog box with the To/CC/Bcc and the message body with Cancel and Send at the top.

I type in any email address or addresses and tap send. The screen disappears and appears to have worked but the message is never sent. This is 4.725 (updated today hoping it would fix it) on an iPad running 9.3.2 iOs.

You are describing the mail app on your iPad.

Does your mail app work on iPad independently??.

a few months back iscore moved email handling from within iscore to the native device 'mail' app. For more adress and edit flexibility

That would seem to be the reason. I don't use email on the iPad so it's not configured. Seems to be a poor assumption on iScore's part to use the built-in email since not everyone uses it. This has effectively broken this feature.

not technical enough to know the pro/con from a coding side. but clearly the developers intent was to improve functionality not limit.. but yes if you do not have email set up, that would cripple that functionality. . from a user experience side, I have found this new way more flexible, I get easy access to existing address book, and can customize the message content being sent to recipients. All benefits in my book.

regardless, now that we have identified the issue.. what can be done,.. i think you have three choices,
1) you can set up an existing email on iPad, and get the benefit of your existing address/contacts. or
2) you can get a new email just for this purpose from a free email provider like Gmail and Yahoo
3) do nothing and loose the functionality
