Question about new iscorecast invitation (answered)
Question about new iscorecast invitation (answered)
I upgraded to the new version and like the new interface for "sending a link to the game". Accessing the address book is a nice enhancement.
The old message that got sent had a nice title so recipients of the message knew that it was related to iScore. The new one (in my humble opinion) is too generic.
Additionally, I really like the view that showed the "score card" for use on a mobile device and I can't see that view any longer. Any pointers on how to see t hat view in the new version?
Thanks
Jon

Re: Question about new iscorecast invitation
We will look into enhancing the title of the email. You can actually modify the title in the email editor (unlike previously) which can help for now.
We believe you are referring to the "HTML Viewer" when you are talking about the "score card" view. That version of the scoreccast was starting to become outdated (it had several bugs) and was not being maintained. We will no longer be officially supporting that version, though you can still get to it manually for now if you would like by going to http://data.iscoresports.com/iscorecast/htmlplayer.php.

Re: Question about new iscorecast invitation
Following up on your reply, I have several "fans" still inquiring about the changes in iScoreCast. In "older versions" (last year), there were 2 or 3 links in the email. One was what I call "Game Day" (similar to MLB app) that is rich in graphics and shows the players on the field. The other link (which most parents at the game liked because of simplicity and ease of viewing on smaller devices (phone)), had 2 columns (home & away), with highligh of current batter to show where we are in the lineup, and simple "count" information at the top. Is this view available any longer?
Related question, some parents have tried the iScore Central app (free version) but haven't been able to get it to work. They search by Team and can't find our games, and have even tried games. I know i'm casting as parents at home in front of computers are watching. The ad at the bottom says upgrade to remove ads but I'm wondering what is the difference between the "free" and "premium". They'd like to get an idea of what to expect before spending the money.
Thanks

Re: Question about new iscorecast invitation
The iScore Central app shows the live scores in the game lists for free still. When clicking on a game to view, it now requires a subscription in order to view the game.
The single link in the Scorecast emails will automatically take users to the "Game Day" view (as you call it) if clicked from a computer. If clicked from an iPhone or Android device, it will take you to the iScore Central app.
The "simple view" scorecast is still available with direct links, but has not been actively supported in a long time and is being phased out. It has some bugs, and the main purpose for it is viewing on mobile devices which is what the iScore Central app is for.

How do I access the "direct links" that you mention in your last paragraph?

Re: Question about new iscorecast invitation
@OhioTex...thanks for the offer. I still couldn't figure out the "direct links" My investigation lead me to believe I needed to have a "team page" for that feature. I've had team pages in the past but currently don't have a need "except for this capability". I ended up subscribing for the 2 or 3 months whatever the term is, so my wife has access to the "simple scorecard view" but I think several parent on the team would like to have that view just to keep in their pocket and "check the score" on those multi-run innings where the umpires don't update the scoreboard until the end of the inning.
I do totally understand FTM needing to get $ for their product. I purchased the app many years ago and have MORE than gotten the value out of the product alone, and their amazing customer service makes it even a better bargin. I wish ESPN would have a model where you could "subscribe" to iScoreCast for a year, and then all followers could enjoy the fruits of your scoring labor for free. The paid model is too complicated for those grandparents in remote locations viewing or friends who just have a casual interest. The "Game Day" view is alright on a big monitor but I really got kudos from parents on the "simple scorecard view". If you have any pointers on how to help me find the "direct link" that would be great.

Re: Question about new iscorecast invitation
For the old time simple HTML viewer for iscorecast (no longer being updated by iscore)
If you have a team web site subscription you have a url like http://www.iscorebaseball.com/TEAM_NAME
take your TEAM_NAME and put in the following URL http://data.iscorecentral.com/iscorecas ... =TEAM_NAME
Provide the fans this URL link and they get an index of games scored for TEAM_NAME. they just click on the game they want to watch.
If you prefer to send them just a single game link, you can click on game from link above and , copy and paste the game specific url and email to fans
