Dropped 3rd strike question

Post by jojolemon » Fri Mar 19, 2010 9:00 pm

On a dropped third strike, the app always shows "Dropped 3rd Strike - Thrown Out" in the online play-by-play page. And, just notes Kd on the score card. In neither place does it indicate if the catcher threw to 1b or tagged the batter to make the out (assuming an out was made...instead of the batter making it safely to 1b). If you dig into the play-by-play on the iPhone, you can find out the specifics...although, even when the catcher tags the batter, iScore says: "Batter is thrown out by the catcher. Unassisted out by catcher." Not quite right.

Can this be added to the list of things that can be corrected on an upcoming version? I'd really like to see the notation on the score card and the online play-by-play (which is going to show up as a separate sheet on the score card soon, right?) more than just the wording fixed on the iPhone.

FYI - the stats generated in the drop 3rd strike do seem to be correct in current version... the opportunity seems to be in scorecard notation and pitch by pitch and play by play descriptions.

for example... on drop 3rd strike,.
. If an unassisted catcher tag out play Catcher gets credited for a put out pitcher gets credited for the K . (currently score card just shows Kd and out number would be nice if score card read U2 , Kd and out number)

- if a catcher throw to first for out, the catcher gets the assist, the first baseman the put out, and the pitcher the K (would be nice if score card read 2-3 and Kd plus out number)

Yes...the stats appear correct. I'd like the score card to add the notation along the lines of what you (OhioTex) suggest.

similar scorecard notation suggestion exists in another thread too.
I believe FTM has/or will put on their list to prioritize as appropriate

thanks for surfaceing the idea
