Data Synchronization not working, 4.51 and iOS8.1

It seems like the Data Synchronization feature is not working.

I have several iOS devices (5). If I scored on one device, after the game was over, the game that ended would be sync'ed with all the other devices (or so I thought).

The only way I can get all devices now to have all games, even under the same account is by exporting the device, going to the website, managing the data and copying one database to the other, then importing it from the next device. I have to do this for 5 devices if I want to keep all of them in sync.

sync does not work in the way you thought. In order to combine games created on multiple devices you need to use data sharing between devices. If you have a team website, only one device can be the linked device so all games should be centralized there in order to export to website.

If all it does is send information and send the scorecards to the server, what is the receive tab under the Data Synchronization for?

Receive tab is not under Data Synchronization, it is under Data Sharing. Data Sharing allows you to transfer games and teams between accounts. Synchronization sends data to the iScore servers upon completion to act as a backup, and to send the Scorecard to the server.

Receive does show up under Data Synchronization on my iPads:

I have:
Wifi Only | Any Internet | Never

Receive | Send

Ah yes, the selector is there, but it does not currently do anything. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

I think I'm totally confused by the Data Synchronization. What is it supposed to do?

I have my coaches just check if the data/game has been sent. Then I pull their scores and sometimes the games are posted, sometimes they are not.
For instance, last night my scorekeeper scored a game "Yankees vs. Tigers", I downloaded the game last night no problem. The game shows up on my device, and when I go to Data Synchronization I can see it was sent.

So I go into the league website, which has the scoreboard code that is associated with my device, and I don't see the game.

I go into my.iscorecentral account, associated with my device and I don't see the game, nor the iscorecast:

What is the automatic sync function for then?

Data synchronization creates backups of your games on the iScore server. Games that have been synched can also be retrieved through data sharing by putting "sync:" in front of the customer ID when entering the data share login information.

So, when my scorekeepers score a game, on their iPad, no internet connection, what should I tell them to do when they get home or have an internet connection?

If they get home with their ipad, will id detect (in the background) that they have internet connection and sync automatically? Will I be able to get their score using "sync:"?
Do they have to awake their iPad or other device to get it to sync? Do they have to open the application "iScore" for it to sync?

The best thing to tell them is when they have an internet connection, they should go into iScore and do an Options -> Export. This sends their data to the iScore server and you can then do standard data sharing to retrieve their data.
