For anyone following along, we took Larry's data and used it on an iPad 3 here and were not able to see the same performance issues.

Here are the suggestions we sent back:

We do know that iOS 7 has started allowing things to keep running in the background in a much more CPU intensive way than older iOS versions. We would suggest trying this:

1. Tap the home button on your device to return to the home screen

2. Double tap the home button to show "running apps". "Flick" every app up to stop the apps from running (including iScore)

3. When there are no apps still running, press and hold the Home and Power button on your device until the Apple logo appears. This will do a full reboot of the device (clearing any memory that apps may not have freed)

4. After the device restarts, start iScore back up and try your same tests again with nothing else running on the device

I'm seeing the issues on an ipad 2 with ios 7.02. I did follow the suggestions above and it worked for 2 games in a row then started to get sluggish again. I also disabled background refresh with the same poor performance.

This thread from Apple's support forum gives some tips on speeding things up on older devices running iOS 7 after an upgrade:

I will give them a try. Scored 7 games on Sunday and had to restart the ipad after every 2 games or deal with getting behind. I switched to ipad from Android to pick up some of the UI features that were no available on Android. May have to go back to Android if this nothing fixes the performance. I will give the suggestions a try and see what works and post back.

Thanks again for everyone's help, this is a great app!!
