Post processing the Database ...

I've used iScore Baseball to track my daughter's fastpitch tournaments for their fall season.

Now that our fall season has ended, I'd like to do a variety of statistical post processing that would require access to data that is not now available to me, but that I suspect is in the database (since I put it in there!) Since I track pitch types and locations for both offense and defense, I'd like to analyze batters trends against various pitch types and locations and how that evolved over the season.

I'd also like to analyze batters trends against various pitchers; pitching trends against various batters; track changes/trends over the season; chart effectiveness of various specialty pitches; and much more ... yeah, I've got too much time on my hands :)

Anyway, this requires access to the data. How can I get at that data?

I suspect others have similar desires. Perhaps you'd consider facilitating a repository of analysis tools either contributed by the community (for such things as Excel templates and macros) or for sale (for more complex analysis programs). In the end, the power of a tool like iScore Baseball lies in its data. There's a lot in there that I'd like to get may hands on but at the moment can't.

We have started making the data available in an XML form on a subscription basis to third parties for integration with more detailed statistics tools. There are a couple of companies creating tools to analyze the data, and give you some of the detailed analysis you are looking for. We expect to have more to announce in this regard as the spring season approaches.

In addition, we will continue to expand the built in reporting capabilities, and will have our own web offering in the future (which may include the detailed XML data as well).
