Swinging strike button

Post by frachel » Fri Jul 20, 2012 2:36 pm

Any chance of getting an actual button for strike swinging, perhaps above the strike button? There's plenty of real estate on iPad.. Maybe it's just me, but scoring these games in the heat wave up in NJ.. Hands get sweaty/oily, and half the time the swipe to get strike swinging doesn't take and I have to undo and do it again. For something so common a button would be welcome..

Hmmm...interesting. Have not heard that comment before. The only problem I ever had with it was when I had a screen protector on, it wouldnt work reliably. Since then, never a problem with the swipe. In fact I and others have made requests for more swipe functionality throughout the app.

The bigger benefit of that may be that many people dont realize swiping is an option for swing strikes.

I have the same issue with the swinging strike. It works maybe 25% of the time for me. It may be because I have a screen protector on the iPhone, as mprusak suggested.

I would agree with that. It is an issue on very hot days. It's also an issue on rainy days when I put the ipad in a large Ziplock bag to keep it dry while scoring. Other than those times, swipe works well and minimizes opportunities to hit a wrong button.

Make sure you place your finger on the strike button, and slide your finger up across the button. "Swipe" may make people think swiping left/right/down will work as well. It has to be an upward movement from the strike button.

It always works for me as long as I start the swipe on the strike button.
