Request for additional player card stats

Post by joehyuk » Wed Aug 26, 2009 8:07 am

A few additional stats for the Player Card would be useful.

For hitters, OBP and number of caught stealings (or alternatively, stolen bases attempted).

For pitchers, number of games, number of games started, blown saves, WHIP, K/9, and K/BB.

Except for WHIP, K/9, and K/BB, none of these stats can be calculated from the existing stats you show, so please consider adding them. Thanks.

OBP is actually there on the player cards.

Caught stealing not being there was an oversight on all our stats output that someone else mentioned in another thread as well a few weeks ago. We track that stat internally, but only displayed it as a fielding stat for catchers. We will be adding it as an offensive statistic as well in the next release.

For pitchers, number of games, WHIP and K/BB are there as well. We do not have Games Started and Blown Saves. We will look to add those in the future.

This is for any games you score yourself. If you are talking about the stats provided for MLB players, we actually do not calculate those as it is seasonal data that we get from a data feed. If you click the "Flip" button for an MLB player, we do directly link to MLB.com though, and lots of data is available there.

Yes, I meant for the MLB player stats. I'm surprised the feed you use doesn't have some of these stats, but I certainly can't blame you for that. And looks like the MLB.com pages do have everything except for the rate stats (e.g., WHIP, K/9, and K/BB).

For the user-created players, HBP would be another useful stat for pitchers (and maybe even for hitters).
