I love the new feature that allows you to update player numbers directly in the lineup screen by tapping the number.
Anyone who regularly receives the opposing team lineup about a minute before the Umpire yells "Play Ball" should appreciate this.
The only problem I have is that there seems to be a very small field to enter the number (using the iPad version).
If I do not press it exactly right, it goes to the player screen.
I can only get it right about one third of the time.
Is anyone else having the same problem ?
Any chance this field could be made a little larger in a future version ?
I am constantly amazed at the attention to detail that this program has.
These little changes may not seem like much, but make a huge difference to the faithful users.
It shows that you really care about how your product is used.
Thank You

I echo your sentiments both on the greatness of the feature and the clumsiness of my fingers hitting the space in exactly the right spot.
One other thing to mention for those of us using the iPod Touch's small screen: I usually get the other team's lineup after the official scorebook keeper finishes recording it, so it's a great feature for just going right down the list and adding numbers. That is... until it gets to about the 6th name on the list. The lineup does not scroll down when the typing/entry window is up. Therefore, I have to enter a number, exit out of the entry window, scroll down to the next batter, click the number-entry spot (which, as kacolvin mentioned, is a 1-in-3 shot), enter, then back out of the entry window. Repeat all the way to the end of the lineup. It would be a huge help if you could scroll the names while using this feature.
Thanks!
Clarification: When I say "typing/entry" window, I'm referring to the keyboard pop-up.

I have a little more success than 1 in 3, but my concern is how close this tap is to the delete button for a player. I haven't done it yet, but I know I will.

Delete would require a second confirmation on the Delete button that appears, so that should not happen by accident. We will see if we can improve the clickability of the area.

Re: Player # Editing
Since our season in Canada is over, I have not had an opportunity to use this new feature. So I created a sample game to try & use it, but cannot find where this is done.I have ver3.35.215, so I think I am up-to-date. Do you have a screen shot that would show me the page that this is done on and what it looks like. My lineup page looks exactly as it always has. I thought that I had a good "handle" on how the program works but I guess that you can always learn something new!
Re: Player # Editing
On the line up screen... ,just press the player number area, and a cursor will appear.
(the line screen looks the same as it always has, just now that part of screen is active for editing)
(three ways to access the "line up screen" ,
a) first screen on a new game after you hit play from Game Info screen,
b) in pitch by pitch, game Starts, Starting Line up edit,
c) in main scoring screen, misc, show starting line up

Re: Player # Editing
A suggestion to possibly avoid having trouble imputing player numbers on the lineup page. Use a stylus pen. To try it out I just input 12 player numbers for a test team and only once did it not input correctly and I don't think I'm more skillful than the average person. The tip of a stylus is much smaller than the tip of a finger. A stylus should be available from Staples, as it is in Canada.
