Can iscore generate tweets for play by plays to Twitter?

Post by Rhinorobbo » Sun Jun 07, 2009 1:39 pm

Just had what I thought is a great idea ... it has come about following a weekend where our Little League team was participating at the Australian Little League Nationals held in another state.

We set up a twitter account 'RydeHornsby' and had people at the ground providing play by plays tweets of the games whenever they could via a laptop or using an iphone app twitterfon or tweetie. It gave those supporters from afar a womderfull view on what was happening at the game. We ended up with a whole lot of dedicated followers who all agreed it was a great experience using twitter and reading the short bursts of info.

Now this is where iscore could come in ???? ..... I don't think you need to see the pitch by pitch plays because there would be too many in a game (and there is a limit on how many tweets you can upload to an account in an hour ... we found that out and then had to wait an hour to have counts reset) but play by play gives a fantastic rolling update on what happens in baseball.

Twitter has a limit of 140 chars per message .... this might be an issue when busy and complicated plays occur although they could be split over 2 or 3 messages.

I suspect when a play by play is generated, the user could then say by touching a button or similar .... 'now tweet' .... and it could be uploaded to twitter.

Has anyone else out there got any thoughts on this?

Your app gets better and better all the time .... have always thought you guys have you finger on the pulse with letting the people decide where to take your appp ...

We LOVE this idea.

It is very current too --- twitter is quite popular right now.

We will have to think about what we could provide - 140 characters is quite short. Maybe could come up with 1/2 inning summaries or something.

Thanks for the idea.
