Play-by-play/scoresheet/box score enhancements

Post by grstatdoc » Sun Mar 01, 2020 9:02 pm

I've just finished entering plays from a series scored in iScore to two different programs.... 8-)
While the scoresheet provided about 95% of what I needed to enter plays, there were some times where I needed to consult the play by play (abbrev. pxp) to figure something out, but sometimes the pxp did not help as much as I had hoped.
The first desire is to see the defensive scoring in the play by play:

#27 Strike (looking), [G Okawa Caught Stealing], Ball, Strike (looking), Ball, Fly out
can be improved by showing how the caught stealing was done (e.g., 2-4 or 2-6) ... the fly out in this example was P6

#42 Ground out, [#21 advances to Third], Double Play!
Without the scorecard, I would not have known it was a 6-4-3 (or as the scorecard said), DP6-4-3

Speaking about caught stealing/picked off/dropped 3rd strikes...
I'm not sure if there is an option to do so on the scorecard, as CS4 shows that a runner was caught stealing while the #4 batter was up, leaving me to guess how it was done....in the scorebook legend, it did show 2-4 above the CS6

I think there was a suggestion to show unearned runs in a different color to visually distinguish them from earned runs, but perhaps that requires a lot of complex coding...

I think the biggest need/desire is to show positions in the box (e.g. 2b, DH, ph-cf, etc.)
In both the play by play and the scorecard, showing offensive subs as ph or pr

#26 M Sulkanen M Sulkanen replaces N Hughes on offense [as pinch hitter], Single, [C VanderLeest advances to Third] 9 4
#9 N Brzezinski M Vicari replaces M Sulkanen on offense [as pinch runner], Ball, Foul, Foul, Foul, Ball, Ball, Ground out, [C VanderLeest Scores], [M Vicari advances to Third]

I'm not sure if it's more operator error or a logic glitch that plays can be entered while not having defensive replacements in at the start of an inning
