No pitch - intentional walk

Post by Rswygert » Sun Mar 24, 2019 4:15 pm

Our state’s high school baseball rules changed this year to allow a no pitch-intentional walk. The defensive coach tells Blue to put the batter on and that’s it. Is there a way to do that without using 4 intentional balls?

This is now also the method used in Major League Baseball as of last years “pace of play” rule changes.

We could use an Intentional Walk button in the Misc menu (where Balk) is.

To walk a batter without pitches, just tap 'In Play' and then 'Intentional Walk'. The batter will be placed on first base (and forced runners moved appropriately) and no pitches will be added to the pitcher's pitch count. If you want to walk a batter with the pitches counting, you can just tap 'In play' and then 'Walk Base on Balls'. This will add the pitches to the pitch count.
