central viewer mobile app scorecast viewing for multiple teams in a tournament

Post by rasmith2001 » Sat Apr 28, 2018 9:27 am

I scorekeep at a couple of tournaments a year and everyone likes to follow on the Iscore cast it's always been free and I understand it still is on a laptop. Is there any way we could purchase a tournament website that would allow us to feed the iscorecast for free even on mobile devices.

The two options for watching the iScorecasts on mobile devices are the individual subscriptions which are $4.99 for three months and users can watch any of the iScorecasts, or if you purchase a team website for a team, then the iScorecasts for that team are unlocked for everyone to view.

But that isn't quite where he's going with his question and I, too, have the same issue.
Because of the limited time frame of tournaments, there aren't many takers when it comes to slapping down five bucks for something they might use twice for a grand total of five minutes. Having a team website doesn't solve the issue given its limited appeal in a multi-team tournament.
I know that they administrators and organizers of the tournament that I do would be more than willing to spend some money for what would amount to a "universal code" for a far more limited time (a week) for the teams and families of those that participate.
Or, failing that, I think that simply creating an option for a "league/tournament website" with varying pay scales for the time needed for accomplish the same thing.

We like the idea. One of the challenges here would be how to identify the teams / games from the tournament so we could have some kind of bundled tournament offering.

In my experience if high level play and parents-fan can't be there in person and are interested in a quality pitch by pitch update. They find it worth $5 of value, especially if traveling and can uae the audio cast. For most tournaments that will be leas than 2$ a game. Some one once posted ..less than parking or gate fee -- not to mention less than a hot dog and a coke.

Those fans who just need a periodic score update .. can get score for free on iscore central. mobile app - just not the pitch by pitch details.

As to partnering w/ tournaments, to offer for free. Great idea. I think This leads to how to best co market and integrate with "tourney machine" leveraging the beta league director version for league leaders and tournament scoreboard

The challange w tournaments and leagues is having enough qualified scorekeepers. Takes manpower and a quality tournament would want quality scorekeepers as they will be challanged at times for their decisions and accuracy.

I am the qualified scorekeeper at a couple of American Legion tournaments per year. 15 games 5 days. These parents pay enough and some of the games are on weekdays. I hate having to ask them cough up some more money. I routinely for work day games get over 100 viewers. I would love to see you make some kind of tournament arrangement. I use both iscore for the live and another program for stats and boxscores. If I cant get some sort of resolution from Iscore Ill have to see what stat crew has to offer.

You may want to email ,

Support@iscoresports.com and
Sales@iscoresports.com

describe your situation, and perhaps they can work out some flat fee or free situation in conjunction with their tournament program "tourney machine".

There are programing challenges as support described for making a public product at this time for multi team scorecast..but given your situation, perhaps there is a one off beta process they could use

I don't understand how this is complicated 8 teams 5 days double elimination tournament. 14 or 15 games. I have been able to feed in the past and if the price is reasonable the tournament would be willing to spend the money. I don't want to gouge the people. If I have to I can go back to tweeting every play I guess. The only problem with stat crew is you need an internet link. Not something I have every year and this is one of those years. The Iscorecast I can run from my cellular ipad. I have 100 viewers every game easily. I have taught a lot of people how to use it. Of course I paid for it back in the day now its free.

The complication is unfortunately simple, the current product design and business model was not designed for multi-team tournament situations. The current product suite (scorekeeper app, viewer app, and team website subscription) "as is" is just a 'square peg round hole' type problem for your Needs ("ie different use case")

When iScore does provide a multi-team league/tourney solution, I would hope it would be scaleable to the hundreds of teams and offer league/touney stat leaders and standings - not just scorecast unlock for mobile viewing.

I wish i could provide you creative workaround besides the 20$ x 8 teams to unlock mobile scorecast for all- but that is current model.

The best i can come up with is you could purchase Team Web Site subscription (at 20$ per) for the max number of games you would have going at once, select a generic url for team name eg. TournyNameFeedA, TourneyNameFeedB, TourneyNameFeed C, TourneyNameFeedD, and then manually assign home team to a 'subscription' before each game (on admin web site). - thus unlocking game for mobile viewing. (Assuming you have no need for the traditional team website stats, just want to unlock game for mobile viewing). So at most then 4x$20. If only max 2 fields at once, $40.

I almost got the feeling you may only score 1 game at a time. If so then you could provide unlock viewing for 20$ plus some admin management time on your part. You said you do two times a year, and you can re use url for second tourney, cutting per tourney cost in half. So If you just want scorecast available unlocked and don't need Team web site for stats and stuff , Then you can do a workaround on the cheap. I know real clunky but a cheap workaround, available now, (If this remotely intriguing to you , i can elaborate more detail how to pull it off),

If you want a 'real solution'
I would suggest reaching out to the company by email.. explain your situation details and timeline and perhaps they can get creative on options and help solve something for you.

You mention 'back in the day' you purchased iscore. Not sure how long ago that was but as you may know the product has changed business hands a couple of times from original developers at FTM AND marketing alliance with espn to SIplay to now nbc and sports engine folks ... as such business model has evolved.

I still believe in the product and the team behind it and hopefully they will be able to help you out. As a fan, i appreciate high level
Tourneys that offer live stats and streaming. Perhaps they have some cross prpduct solutions with tourney machine, si league that has multi team pricing models and can attach to it mobile scorecast
