lineups

Post by spnmbr8rchs » Thu Apr 30, 2009 9:36 pm

i think its kind of difficult to set lineups still...i think to set a lineup for a game should show a field with all 9 positions plus a position off to the side for the DH and all u have to do is touch the position and then pick from the roster who is going to play that position after every position has been chosen it should bring up a screen with all 9 or ten players that were selected to put them in the order of your choice..i believe this would be easier

We have added your suggestion to our enhancements list.

The good news is if you set up your positions once in Team Manager, then on future games, chances are very few changes will need to be made.

We are always looking to improve the workflow though, so thank you.

I agree that the lineups still need to be easier to adjust for a game. Some pointers to keep in mind when setting up lineups in the team manager:

1. Do not assign positions to players who are not in the starting lineup. (I initially made the mistake of trying to assign players' "usual" positions in the Team Manager. This just caused problems when I would start a game).

2. Make sure anyone not in the starting lineup is assigned both "Out" in the position options and "No" for batting. (After I experienced the '-1' issue, I had some players that were not marked with either of these, and they become listed as "Batting" when you start a game. I changed them to not batting in the Team Manager, but didn't set the position to "Out", so they were still being marked as Batting when I would start a new game).

I posted this idea before, but I think what would be helpful is the ability to set batting (and possibly position) from the list screen without having to go into the detail screen. when you have to remove the Batting flag from 11 incorrectly marked players, it can be a bit tedious to go into each player's detail screen to turn it off, especially when you are trying to put final touches on your lineup in the last couple minutes before a game starts.
