Scorecard Issues on Double Plays: 1) Wrong Out Sequence w R1+ & 2) Erroneous RBI Dot (answered, future.feature.request)

Post by Tacho47 » Sat Apr 29, 2017 11:38 pm

Situation:
R1 + R2, 0 Out, the next batter hits a hard ground ball to the the shortstop who steps on the 2nd Base to retire R1 and then trows the ball to the 1st Baseman to retire the Batter in a double play.

How to enter this situation in IScore with the right sequence of outs?

There is not a quick out (aka swipe out) for the U6, 6-3 double play, so the standard entry method applies, which is...

OUT> GROUND OUT > (optional - ball location, strength/type, NEXT) > SS-1B, DONE>
> What happen to R2? > SAFE, THIRD, ADVANCE BY BATTER>
> What happen to R1? > OUT, SECOND, DOUBLE PLAY

The stats will be correct , shortstop gets a Put Out and an Assist, first basemen a Putout, Both SS and 1B get DP participation stat. Batter gets an AB and a GDP.

The scorebook will correctly note the batter DP 6-3, AB# for R2 at third, and FO# for R1 (where # is the batter order #)

The red out circles on scorecard will be out of sequence, which would seem to be a bug in the program that happens when more than just R1 on base. b/c when just R1 on base entering above method, the sequence on score card is correct.

Would be nice to find this solved soon as well as the "GDP-RBI-Dot-Bug" on the scorecard on standard groundout DP's (4-6-3, 6-4-3, 5-4-3, 3-6-3, 1-4/6-3) with 0 Outs and R1, R3 while R3 scores on these DP's. Fortunately the RBI is statistically NOT credited to the Batter, just marked as a dot on the scorecard.

I was not aware (not remembering and not finding on forum) where "GDP-blue RBI Dot" bug was previously posted....

But When i test situation R1, R3 0 Outs, R3 scores on DP's, I did find a blue dot incorrectly put on the scorecard only when using the swipe QUICK OUT double play feature, but not when doing the standard entry method using "double play out" button for what happen to R1.

More broadly, I find same problem (RBI dots incorrectly added to scorecard), using any quick out double plays in any Runner situations where a runner scores. examples .
*) Bases Loaded r1,r2,r3, no outs, quick out DP : R3 scores on (1 rbi blue dot), or R2 and R3 score (two rbi blue dots)
*) R1,R2 no outs, quick out DP : R2 scores (1 rbi bue dot on scorecard )

I did not see any other issues related to stats, just the blue RBI dot on scorecard incorrectly given on double play when using quick outs with 0 out and 1 or more runner(s) score. do you concur?

I thought i would summarize and bump this topic for PDF scorecard bugs related to double plays (and triple plays)
  • on PDF scorecard, on Double Play (w 0 out and using quick out entry) - Incorrect assignment of RBI Blue dot
    • blue RBI dots incorrectly put on scorecard on double play when using quick outs with 0 out and 1 or more runners score. iScore correctly, does no credit batter with a RBI statistically, so would not expect the score card to reflect the RBI Blue dot on scorecard for batter.
  • on PDF scorecard, on Double Play (with more than just a Runner on First, using standard entry) - incorrect Sequence of Red out circles
    • The red out circles on scorecard are out of sequence, when more than just R1 on base and a double play (and triple play) is entered using standard (not quick out) entry method using the "double play" (or triple play) out button
  • similar issues on scorecard for Triple plays a) RBI assignment and b) out sequence
