Clock Management (future.feature.request)
Clock Management (future.feature.request)
We recently had a rain delay and I was surprised to see the clock reset to 0 when the game resumed. It would be great for the game time to pause and then restart when the game resumes for time limit purposes.
Re: Rain Delay - Keep time running
This is posted elsewhere but worth repeating as not obvious how MISC > RAIN DELAY and MISC > RESUME GAME work.
(idea: resume game could be better labeled RESET CLOCK as that more accurately describes the behavior, resume clock happens by just next play entry)
When you first hit MISC>RAIN DELAY the word DELAYED is put on screen of handheld device where clock time normally displays and clock is PAUSED. If you just start scoring again (ball, strike, foul out, in play etc) the clock resumes .
If however you go back to MISC> RESUME GAME. The clock resets to zero.. (Hence I wish MISC > said RESET CLOCK not RESUME GAME)
We have had number of forum members suggest they want both CLOCK RESET and CLOCK RESUME. Both have merit and can be done you know which keys to hit when.

Re: Rain Delay - Keep time running
I use an android, but I don't have a "rain delay" option in my "misc." menu. Just the 'end game button.'
Re: Rain Delay - Keep time running
The "rain delay" feature under the misc menu is only available on iOS devices at this time.

Here is the source thread for above quote along with some user discussion on implementation issuesFTMSupport 4/4/16 wrote:We do not currently have the rain delay option on Android devices. Using notes is the best way to indicate rain delay. The only downside is the game timer will not be resume-able when the game continues.

Re: Rain Delay - Keep time running (future.feature.request)
Building on the Begining post in this thread, Was thinking on diferent ways to handle the "Clock" on the main scoring screen in baseball. My two cents for future clock refinement (for both iOS and Android)
1) Change the current iOS user interface for clock management from being located under Misc > Menu to be simply "Tapping the clock area" on the main scoring screen
2) tap on clock brings up a menu choice, to PAUSE (if running) or RESUME (if paused), or RESET to Zero, or Custom Set (not sure if possible, but set the clock time).
following a clock activity, (Pause, Resume, Reset or Set) trigger Notes pop up window. a user can then type a note (rain delay, injury, field change, etc ) to scorecast/play by play or Cancel
3) When paused have clock display Delay like it does today, and when scoring resumes (strike, ball, foul, out, inlay button) , clock restarts, (vs reset)
